With all these new reforged models, the female death knight, the male priest of the moon (rumored), even Garithos - is there an easy way to go about separating the mount and the unit.

I can add the correct standing and other animations to the unit if I need to, I just need to know the best way or best tool to do so.

Thanks!

Apologies for bothering you, I am not a skilled modeler in any form.

I am trying to get a hold of the female death knight for a cosplay project. Basically, if I can get the model (either mounted or unmounted), to Maya or Blender, I can pull the armor pieces off and be able to eventually get them to a 3D printer for printing. However, I am 100% not familiar with modding in WC3, and I am having trouble getting the model in general. You seem to know where to get the unit model, and I would be surely grateful if you could direct me in the way of extracting the model for editing.

Place any unit in the editor, double click them to edit them and change their skin to Udef. If you use the regular Hero death knight it will be Udea. She currently is playing the wrong animation in the editor - "testing" the map she will work fine.

To extract her - CASCViewer works fine, you just have to go to the path and grab the model.

Did you need more assistance than that? :)

Usually, model structure is have some grouped parts, like layers in photoshop (or folders on your files). So its gonna be just click and delete.

The problem is to get the models. Since the import plugin thingy haven’t published yet, and i dont think the old plugins can open it.

None of the blender plugins I have can open them yet, but if anybody else has had any luck with that I would be more than eager to know. Im no good at modeling but I know enough to be able to extract the models for 3D printing. Which I foresee myself doing a heck of a lot of in the future.
