I believe this is because of your anti-cheat system. When you sell the item using the box, it ends you game with a note saying you cheated. You should look into the gold related anti-cheat trigger.
I was searching for the problem, but the anti-cheat works when player 12 gets any gold. Player 12 won't any gold when player 1 sells items. This is why it's for me hard to believe it is the anti-cheat. But what else could it be? So far I haven't found out why is this happening.
Does this bug happen always when you're selling items from boxes?
Yeah it always happens.
Are the boxes aligned to player 12? When I end the game I see in the scores that Inventory boxes is their own player.
EDIT:
Yeah the "Inventory Boxes" player is colored brown which is usually the color of player 12.
