The only, and then I mean only reason to get S1 gear over anything is if you can't get anything better. Let's face it, honor grinding is - although time consuming - the easiest thing possible in the game. (AV) So yeah, people who want to gear up can easily do this, but many heroic items, as well as Badge of Justice rewards are much, much stronger PvE wise. Just keep spreading the word, perhaps, one day, people will realise.

I know the feeling. Having Paladins applying to a raiding guild saying their gear is easily comparable to Tier 5 and can easily heal in Black Temple/Hyjal. That they have +2000 Healing and 24% Holy Crit, yet only 30 mp/5 while casting.

Yay Longevity!

Tier 6 has Spirit and Spell Hit. Two things that are important to a PvE Mage. Since you get 60% of your FSR Regen, Spirit is very <3.
1% Spell Hit (if not capped) Is a 1% damage increase in theorycraft.
And Tempest gear has quite a bit of both.

i think people go "ooooh epics" and get all tingly. resillience is pvp, but at the same time you can use season gear as a quick way to get some nice gear at 70, instead of having to get masses of rep. then again, rep requirement is now only honoured so then again heroics arent even that bad.

Well, for Heroics, some of them require a Tank that's blue with some epics, and some harder Heroics might need Crit Immunity, which PvP gear can't give. (Unless you enchant/socket every piece of your gear for Defense Rating) To check your crit immunity, paste this into the Chat box:
Code:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(2.6-(GetCombatRatingBonus(CR_DEFENSE_SKILL)*.04+GetCombatRatingBonus(CR_CRIT_TAKEN_MELEE)),1,0.5,0)

If it comes out as Zero or negative, you're crit immune.

Resiliance does nothing to stop crushing blows, which is what typically 2 shots main tanks in later 25-mans. People seek season one for nothing more then that its the easiest and quickest way to make your character wear purples. Nothing more. And yes, people who bring pvp gear to raids are just liabilites.

And A paladin's mana regen comes from their crits. 60% of the spell's base cost back everytime, plus the low cost of heals...yeah, just chug a mana potion every so often and you'll never run outta mana.

Indeed, my guild keeps wiping at Moroes in Karazhan, just because half of the raid wears Gladiator gear, and have wrong specs (Beastmaster in Karazhan claiming that Vengeful gladiator can go through the entire raid?) Vengeful Gladiator can pass only Attumen the Huntsman, which is fairly weak.

at the same time however, it can be easier to get season 1 and start raiding than to go thought various heroics, then start raiding. although you would have better gear by getting some nice epics from heroics, you would be able to get raid gear faster by replacing your season 1 stuff with kara gear. ofc, this all is dependant on skill and guilds.
