Out of curiosity, how many Hiveworkshop members plan on buying RIFT?
The game has been described as a mix between Dragon Age and World of Warcraft exept better.
But that is just if you scratch the surface of the game.
The most interesting about this game is the rift's themselves.
I highly suggest you read or watch some videos with them if you havn't already.

Some people havn't heard of it yet though, which is a shame.
It has your basic 4 diffrent classes to pick from
warrior.png
cleric.png
rogue.png
mage.png

All of which have 8 diffrent subclasses that can be seen here:http://eu.riftgame.com/en/classes/index.php
There is also a subclass which you can get from pvp:http://eu.riftgame.com/en/game/pvp/classes.php

This system is made so that people don't get bored with their classes.
Essentially all classes have a tank, healer and a dps role.
You can also turn your class into something wildly diffrent.
Rogues can turn into Hunters if one put talent points into the "Ranger" and "Marksman" tree.
However, the very same rogue could also turn into an exellent off-healer and support class if you put all your talent points into the "Bard" tree.

The Guardians are the chosen of Telara’s gods, the Vigil. After the tyrant Aedraxis called forth power from the Plane of Death and devastated Telara, the Vigil chose the greatest souls who fell that day to be harbingers of the next era. A golden age awaits, but Telara must first be saved — by deed, by example, and by the sword. Its people must be redeemed, its corruptors purged, before the world can truly be safe.

The Guardians consists of 3 diffrent races. More reading can be found in the links.

The Defiant do not care whether the gods abandoned the world or not. To them, this entire planar convergence disaster is the gods' fault in the first place. Indeed, as soon as things went from bad to worse, the gods suddenly and inexplicably disappeared.
So while the Guardians run around Telara building temples, sticking their noses in everyone's business, and desperately praying for a miracle, the Defiant plan on actually delivering one, even if it means being branded as heretics and operating outside the laws of the land.

Wtf 32 classes? xD

I did read an article on this in a dutch game magazine, you could also attack these bastions that spawn randomly from rifts in the world right? But if nobody destroys them they grow out as large fortresses of evil or something.

Not planning on buying any MMO, just give me a good singleplayer one. (Less addictive =P)

Trion was so very kind to give me not one month but two months of free gameplay.
Well not just me anyone who bought a non-digital version of the Collectors Edition. So I got plenty of time to play around before getting all serious!

I thought I should make a post and upload one ingame screenshot every other day starting today for an entire month.
So that people get to see what kind of game it is - a beautiful one.

This one was particular hard to get to, mostly because the mobs were level 32-34 and I am only level 30 with my mage.
But as promised I delivered you guys with a picture.

I know this game its so good i never played but i watched cinematics just one question is it f2p or p2p

Now however this is a place crawling with giants, trolls and other worthless beings that are to be eradicated from the face of this planet.

The tiny character in the picture is me :)

Have taken the mines in this area, the honest defiant people that worked there before have been enslaved by those treacherous demons.
Some are more unlucky than others though, the Guardians are in the process of testing a new device they've invented.
It's a device that sucks the life energy and soul out of people, turning them into a soul orb filled with energy.
They use these orbs to power their infernal contraptions so that they can dig for metals. However we will stop them (and confiscate the machines of course) !

Denarok, Well what do you want me to respond to that? Get a job perhaps?

Moin moin =)

What the hell dude, to expensive ... All new games costs around this price (here in Germany it's 40€ ~ 50$).
But I have to say, I like this game at all. Fine, when you play this World of Warcraft first and then Rift, you will think "omg I see this in WoW before", but for sure, you will say this about every coming MMORPG. But Rift is different. The used the banner "We aren't not in Azeroth anymore" (or something like that) and they're right!

Which thing sux, as always, is the monthly payment, but for this game I pay it, it's cool, and before you say something against a game at all, you should test it first (just a general note)

Dr Super Good, I have it on "Ultra" but it can be turned up even further.
However I would like to mention that for me this isn't playable.
Mostly because I have a somewhat old graphics card (Nvidia 8600 GTS).

I can easily play on "Good" but not "Ultra". But I normally play on "Medium" because otherwise walking around in Meridian (the Capital) would be slightly annoying when all the normal people are online.
