Moved to Substandard.
Played it around for a bit. It's hard to get through the starting forest without exhausting most of your pots and mana. The hero doesn't get any items that may increase their stats early on, so it's all just relying on spells (thereby depleting your mana), or RNG hoping that you deal the most damage before you get any more yourself.
In the Town, from what I saw, there isn't any way you could replenish your health and mana (like a fountain or healer), so you just have to wait to regen for a long time. Also, I encountered the same problem from the starting forest when I started the bandit quest. The hero has no way to defeat the bandits without exhausting its very limited mana to deal damage to the enemies. When you do conserve your mana, the enemies will just pick you off as they overpower you greatly.
I suggest giving the hero a chance to regen itself without having to rely too much on limited pots or waiting. Making the first skill (Holy Light) able to target the hero itself might be a good thing.
I encountered a bug with the Farragast herb. I cleared the area and took the herb to turn it in but the night elf doesn't respond at all.

Pretty good map, I'd like to see people make more like this, not too complex like the chosen one and not simple like a 30min 1 quest map.
What I liked:
-The difficulty was really well-balanced, bravo, a lot of testing and twitching here. I finished with the hammer, red armor after Gorin, kept the gem for AS and orb of fire. Ad to use the huge regen gem for Gorin the Learned.
-The sides quest and secrets were nice and ad playtime.
What I disliked:
-Realizing maxing holy light put me in the s*it so I had to restart around the first town.
-Spamming Thunderclap for half the map, a 5th ability or passive would have been great (for me), the problem I know, you would have to change all the leveling and stats distribution and test the map again.
-No end cinematic for a sequel or anything! I felled kinda robbed after everything.
I recommend if you like:
-solo hard RPG
-Simple story with side quests/secrets.
-Purging undead by the holy light
Pros
-Nice Story
-some interesting quests
Cons
-While the gameplay is blanced its super slow, sometimes just standing waiting for my hp or mana too regen.
-No custom skills
-Not enough healing or mana items cuasing you too spend so much time fighting the same gnolls or waiting for regen.
Sugestions
-Change holy light to able too self heal and add more mana items instead healing items.
-Change generic warrior abilities too custom paladin skills, I.E. Divine Storm instead of thunder clap. Seal of justice, instead of bash. Avenging wrath instead of Reincarnation. anks or lives with check points would fit better.
-More custom enermies at the start, WoW theme will do. if your going for Warcraft Lore friendly.
Testing in Reforge version he also has a sword model which too be considered if your sticking with bash/hammer paladin theme change the model. I know suggested for classic mode but some people play both modes.
Can always split the holy light into two skills like Flash of light for a small heal(even have this as regular ability instead of hero) and crusader strike for damage. would be easier too scale the damage and healing aspect late game. could even add a weak Divine shield or armour abilities, either some defence or healing ability is what I think of with a paladin. Its possible too add situational healing and defensive abilities then add stronger custom mobs where those abilities really matter while also keeping with the difficult. If you want too keep the difficulty, have divine shield be like 2-3 secs long with a massive cool down, have the heal be super weak, and so on. I can see switching the abilities from warrior focus too paladin focus skill might make it harder to balance because well paladins have a lot of skills that are considered over powered.
Interesting map, went as far as Dark Magus (few hours play, sadly hosted on local so no saving T.T) on normal dificulty, you did a great job using only vanilla models, I assumed was going to be a simple campaign agains the Scourge (wich I love) but you put a mix of a bunch of things wich can be good, or not.
In any case very cool map, I was just sad we could not join the warlock who summoned the Succubus, lock main here, anyway might finish it later.
GJ
I did the herb quest fine, no problens, I was owned by the Dark Magus sadly and skipped the last big battle whee u start by going to the Capitain at the far right, cuse I wanted to explore more, but the Dark Magus ate me even tho I did buy the Hammer of Justice and was saving for the other red item, guess I should have kept more pots.
I did find the sword at the golem and did use the SPOILER to break the path to the secret Sasquash area, but I did not activate the big army near the end cuse I assumed it was the last battle, so I died at the Dark Magus first.Dark Magus fight is the hardest one as you need one of every tier of items - White/Blue/Red (quest rewards included), I should probably also state that you need to collect nearly all books and manuals of health and getting lvl 19.
Spoiler - there is a golem who drops Sword of Nobility by the time finish Wicked Sorcery quest, he spawns on road behind the summoning place.
Its possible to keep the Greater Health Stone for the boss fight as it helps alot (around 800hp), but its hidden in the secret sasquatch area.
The warning is probably not very obvious before you step into the portal so I wil try to be more accurate in next patch.
Anyway thx and gl&hf !
I'm playing on Easy. Maybe some needed creature to trigger that was eliminated because of this?
- Blessing of Hope's hotkey E doesn't work. It also doesn't say how much it heals.
- Intended for the Mud Golem to be created with low mana? Also, kinda meh, you just create units where there were none.
- Can't get further after killing the gnolls in their camp. The blighted trees didn't fall. View attachment 366772
Until now, the game is rather monotonous, linear and uses Warcraft III material to its fullest. The terrain is nice though.
Hmm, it didn't look like it could be broken. It seems to be an unselectable doodad. I will try again.3. Did you break the cage that is in the gnoll camp?
Hmm, it didn't look like it could be broken. It seems to be an unselectable doodad. I will try again.
Moved near it and nothing happened.
So, then, how to break it?Yes the Trees/Destructibles are unselectable (gates/crates/cages etc.) as in original warcraft campaign.
So, then, how to break it?
That's what I was saying, that it didn't seem selectable/attackable.Sorry I meant the names of the objects, generally you have crate/gate/etc. written above it, that makes it easier selectable and noticable. Attacking it with A or right click still should do.
Yes that cage and most of the desctructables (barrels, barricades, rocks) are hard to find and notice, I guess that was part of the maker goal to make exploring more interesting. That's what I was saying, that it didn't seem selectable/attackable.
Weird. I tried some right clicks here and there and it worked eventually.
The game is too sluggish so it's not really fun for me. You rely too much on waiting for Reincarnation and healing.
- Units selected during cinematic mode (Captain scene).
- Holy Light is useless for a lot of the map since it can only affect undead and can't be used to heal yourself since you don't have any allies anyway.
- After the village it gets really boring waiting to regenerate. There's no skill based gameplay. It's just wait and repeat. If not a foutain of health, at least a moonwell type building in the village or something.
- Right then the gate locks and you have to deal with Xelana who uses Finger of Death on you constantly. You only have one Reincarnation, after that you have to wait and her mana regenerates. Meanwhile full mana because I chose Holy Light, Bash and Attribute Bonus. The game is not imbalanced. If I had chosen Thunder Clap, it would have made things much better.
- It's worse than that, the Finger of Death seems to take very little mana and has a low cooldown. At least, you can just push the lever and make a run for it. OK, I was lucky that if you go 1v1 she doesn't use Finger of Death that often.
Hello, i am currently playing this map.
It is a slow progress and healing option are enough but not dependable.
I would prefer a healing fountain in the main city i suppose and i saw some related comments towards that argument.
Anywayz. I have reached lvl 19 and have 3 items one of each color. I have the red gem, i have the Horn of Neteduss, I found the sword from golem and the Mex armor.
I am left to wonder if i must fight the Horseman or the know it all dude/
I fought and failed miserably. I wasnt even close to killing them. Especially the horseman
I lost trying to kill the 2 generators. I have 3000 hp and the ulti and it was over in 30 seconds.
Also in the know it all asshole i managed to avoid avoid infernals and blasts but still i died when he turned into a pheonix. Also the healing runes disappeared when i started the fight him. Is this a bug?
Some other probable ways to move forward are blocked by rocks or closed doors.
One door is near the Horseman, on is near the know it all guy and theres also a small circle of power and rock blockageone on the far north .
So i would need some guidance porfavor
Spoiler alert
i finished the map.
I decided to go back and reload the game from the caves (lvl 8 back again) and i thouhgt that the gamble dude should have something better to drop. So I used my 375 gold at the time to buy the random item. First gamble was a stick and i didnt like it, i reloaded several times till i got a talisman of evasion!
Real good drop, proved very valuable in the upcoming boss fights. I still had the red gem, sword
and horn of neteduss. I sold orb of fire as i managed to gather 1500 and bought the damage item with
the lesser lifesteal. That was the right choice. As i said i bought Mex Armor 1st time and it is a great item, adds 435 hp etc but wasnt enough to win me the fight against the know it all asshole.
Over all that was the most difficult part of the map.
You need to time everything perfectly in order to win the fight. Avoid blasts but circle towards him to get in fighting position when he stops casting, wait for infernals do 3 hits and keep moving to avoid getting stunned, eliminate them all then engage again, avoid tornados/ phoenix gave me lifesteal option and i got lucky i guess ( 3 bash hits) I also kept a healing potion for this fight and i dont regret it . It was close and i got it right after 10 desrespectful loses.
Overall thoughts.
I like games like that. These kind of RPGs are very interesting.
This one has a clear concept but it demands time spent without real value outcome.
There is no clear path to follow in a number of occasions and you find yourself wondering back and forth
wasting time for no obvious reason. A few more portals should be added to minimize time loss.
A healing fountain in the main city should be added as well. Limited resources was a good call, worked and it was an interesting choice. I never got to understand what is the circle of power on the top left of the map. No hints or indication. I really went out of way to revisit the map thoroughly but it was futile.
So thats all folks, thank you for the map
I had an overall good time playing this in Reforged.
I liked the quests and the overall story, even though the dialogue has some grammatical mistakes.
The terrain is awesome, and you really made good use of it.
The gameplay itself can be rather repetitive since I'm just hacking away hoping for stun procs most of the time. (Some more exciting abilities would be great)
However, I find that the boss fights all are fairly balanced as I just barely survived those encounters throughout the game, with only having to reload a couple of times. (Except the Horseman, he absolutely destroyed me multiple times)
In conclusion this a very enjoyable map with a lot of cool exploration, story elements and boss fights. But could use a bit more excitement when it comes to the core gameplay.![]()
