    Welcome to the Scars of Conflict Resource Pack!
    As part of an agreement within our team, absolutely all artistic products such as models, textures and icons are released to the public.
    In the past, when the project was on the verge of death, we released this so called resource pack to make sure the few years we worked on the project weren't in vain just because our leader left.
    However, since Linaze is back and the project is back on track for quite a while now, we decided to keep the resource pack released and even updated with every piece of art we finish.
    Thanks to Ralle's hosted project system, we are now able to upload the pack itself as a .RAR file to the Hive, as opposed to having to rely on a mirror that can possibly go down at any given time.

    Out-of-pack Resource Icons:
    All of the icons listed below are icons made to be used with resources from external sources which are not included in the pack. Each icon's corresponding resource is stated with the icon, complete with a link.
    Icons for in-pack resources are not listed below. Refer to the "Models" section to see a preview of each in-pack resource icon and its corresponding model.
    All of the icons listed below were made by the project's lead artist, Mr.Goblin.



    Archive Information:
    The archive, "SoC Resource Pack.rar", includes four folders and a 1001 x 998 pixels artwork(created by Mr.Goblin to be used as a loading screen and included as a bonus file).
    The "Icons" folder contains out-of-pack resource icons in .BLP format organized by their name into folders. Each such folder contains two files: An "active" command button file, "BTN", and a "disabled" command button file, "DISBTN".
    The "Models" folder contains model resources, fitting textures and fitting icons. The textures have no path - simply remove the prefix of the path of each texture while importing(For example: "War3MapImported\Grunt.blp" will become "Grunt.blp").
    The "Screenshots" folder contains the screenshots which are part of this thread, as well as the model preview thumbnails which were, again, used in this thread.
    The "Textures" folder contains doodad textures which were included as a bonus. Each texture comes with a small Readme file which includes the importing path. All textures were made by Mr.Goblin.
    The "Bonus (Models)" folder contains two SFX models and two standard Blizzard shipyard models with Birth animations.

    Oh, right, and - don't forget that I really didn't contribute that much to this pack at all.     Well you shouldn't really use the 'removed resources', the authors removed them for a reason, you know. :/
    Either way, most of the filesize is thanks to giant images and .PSD files and such, not so much for the textures and models.

    You guys did great here. I really like the New Ogre he fits and blends in nicely with the horde. The assassin is cool as fuck to im not a big fan of that model but with the work thats put into it i am now, it looks great. Quick statement though being that you have the sappers on horde, i was thinking to give you guys an idea to use a rifleman for a siege attacker. Not making the Dwarf Blow up but strong against buildings, same title as the sappers except he is not a suicide unit. With the art you guys are doing now to this game i will use any units created cause so far ALL of them is ALOT better than the original game. Good Job again guys stay posted and keep them coming. By the way Thanks alot for sharing. :)

    I love the footman, although I think you should redo the icons for the units.

    Wonderful work. The Sappers texture has all the right colors.

    The Human Shipyard is bugged. When building nearby units will have part of the animation placed on them when ordered to move.

    Just a quick question. Why were those ships removed? I mean, why did the authors ask for them to be removed? Are they still being worked on or something?

    There was a local 'bar fight' in the Hive Chat Room between me and a couple of other people, and it resulted in him telling me to remove everything. :p

    I don't think there's any reason to go into details regarding the removal of these models. If you're really curious, I suggest you ask the author.

    I should also say that you can rest assured that we will replace the missing models in time. We can't have naval warfare without naval units and we can't have naval units without naval models, so to say.

    I trust those new naval units will still highly-resemble their Warcraft 2 counterparts, right?

    In any case, I still have all the units from your previous resource pack so I'm using the old models as placeholders until you guys are ready. :)

    I wouldn't suggest anyone to use any of the of the removed models in respect of the authors.

    As for the new models' appearances: some will look like their WC2 versions, while others may have entirely new designs. Only time will tell.

    I've been recently trying to import some of the files from this pack directly into a custom .mpq file. I've been having some problems, specifically with the portrait files. When replacing the originals, they don't show up (as in: black space with nothingness). Other model's portrait files seem to work, just not those from the SoC pack. They work when imported through the map editor, but don't when using the 'war3mapImported' workaround in the .mpq. Also, the rest of the model shows up (the model itself + buttons associated with).

    Any ideas why/how this can be fixed? :/

    Are you sure the path is EXACTLY the same, only with "_Portrait"? Also, are ALL the portraits not showing up?

    Well considering it's in a folder, yes the path is the same, with just _Portrait added. All the portraits are not showing up. I can put a footman on a footman, or a footman on a peasant, doesn't show up, or I can put a peasant on a footman, and a peasant on a peasant, still doesn't show up. BUT I can put any other random one on anything and it works...
