I’m sorry I removed the previous attachments. This software has adopted a free + paid monetization model in China.


I shared it because many people were looking for it, and over 90% of its features remain free to use.

If Hive has any concerns, I will remove this thread at any time since the software now has a paid feature model.

All visible features are basically free of charge. I will not promote any paid content or premium advantages here. Everyone is welcome to use it.

There are still many parts with incomplete English translations. Due to the small number of overseas users, I often forget to configure the English descriptions.
If you find any untranslated or incomplete English content while using it, you can compile a list and send it to me. I will complete all translations at once. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

I want to start learning about modeling, but since I imagine it's counterproductive to try to learn too many different tools, I want to pick just one or two, based on which one makes it easiest for me to accomplish things.

what is trms and rms? i think with rms your reffering to retera model studio but what is the other?

the renshin is basically war3 model editor (magos) but ceal with better interface easier usage and alot more features, id say its not better that rms but its much easier to use i feel like rms is sometimes really confusing

what about bugs that magos have, are those fixed?
like not being able to attach animated texture to materials (have to convert to .mdl and use notepad)
or animated texture ids being different in material manager, so if you have more than one it becomes a guessing game

renshen isnt literally a copy of magos's source code or soemthing, it is a completly different program but i mean is it has the same approach as magos unlike retera

renshen isnt literally a copy of magos's source code or soemthing, it is a completly different program but i mean is it has the same approach as magos unlike retera

They are already fixed for old type models in Magos version 1.08 as well as in this Model Viewer which is also modified Magos version with some Retra Studio features in it. Both viewers are for old type of models so far.

Where is 1.08? On the Hive I can only find 1.07 and 1.09

i decided to try 1.09, i was surprised that it worked for me on linux

This Model Editor is not made by me, but is made by Magos.

War3 Model Editor is as the name suggests a Model Viewer and a Model Editor dedicated to Warcraft 3. It supports both loading and saving of .mdl and .mdx model formats which are used in Warcraft 3. It also supports .bmp, .tga, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .pcx and .blp texture formats.

Edit: i think chatgpt misunderstood some stuff war3 model editor DOES have material visibility controls and good ones too, retera does do so but it shouldve been marked with a dash since ive had trouble understanding how it works is isnt as simple as open up a menu and write down some numbers

The biggest problem with this tool that I have is that the author took things that was free from Magos Model Editor and some things from other open source model viewers like Retra and based on that he created mix and started to ask for money -> VIP version + there is a lot of dll files flying around and it looks not too much clean and organized. If u took it for free than give it for free - thats the golden rule but it seems like some people don not have any moral rules.

First off, all the code is my own implementation. I referred to War3ModelEditor for technical analysis by studying some relevant materials, and I’m grateful for its open‑source contribution—without referencing such resources, this project could never have been built from scratch.


As for the DLL you mentioned, I have no idea what you’re referring to. If you’re making groundless speculations with no evidence, I’d ask you to retract your baseless accusations.


My code is written in Python and is incompatible with whatever you’re talking about. Or are you just deliberately being provocative?


I have never promoted any VIP features on my website, nor have I set up international payment channels to attract users from Hive. I have not received a single payment from outside China.


Moreover, all VIP features are self‑developed based on functions not publicly available on the market.


Therefore, your remarks make me feel uncomfortable.

From the moment I switched to a paid model, I removed this software from Hive entirely. I would never have re‑released it if there were no user demand. I have no intention of gaining anything from Hive at all. Since this is paid software, it should be promoted through my own channels rather than using Hive as a means to charge users.


Therefore, the screenshots I posted contain no promotion of VIP features whatsoever. I suggest you keep your rude remarks and disgusting speculations to yourself the next time you judge others.
