regarding absence from the chat

people that havent been active for a while should get afk next to their accounts so that other people dont contact them while they are away. after all, it will help people see who is active and who isnt. i got contacted by a user while i was afk and i didnt see it before the user left.

that wouldnt work for me because of my spontaneous way of being. tank commander is often afk. possibly others as well.

How about an option for people to toggle that setting on or off so they wouldn't have that when they don't want to?

How about this:
When people go afk, they go afk. And if they're afk and someone speaks to them, they don't respond. If, however, they see they got a message when they get back from being afk, they then do whatever they feel necessary.

I think this idea sounds really cool, and so far it's been proven to work. Your thoughts?
