Reforged broke Additive materials

Anyone else's hero-glows, portrait backgrounds, eye glow, or fire look as muggy and lifeless as mine?

Also, why shouldn't I be able to use these options which I had before Reforged?
(Except Foliage, of course)

There seem to be a lot of blending issues with the new patch. I reported some during the beta - they got fixed. After the release I found some more, and reported them to Kam.

You can usually message Kam either here on Hive or on Discord. He's a good candidate to report bugs to. If it's a custom model, he'll probably ask for it.

Reforged has desaturated all of my effects which use the Additive and Add Alpha materials

In addition, Reforged has locked half of the options I used to be able to edit (Except Foliage, that one's new)
So I don't have shadows anymore and my lighting looks like Hell

Oh, that's interesting. During Reforged Beta I reported the exact opposite issue - waterfalls rendering *over* water instead of blending at the intersection point with the water plane.

Oh I could send you about a dozen pictures of shit that looks like crap in the so called 'SD' graphics....

I doubt this will be fixed by Blizzard so I went ahead and made a model edit request earlier today, I'm not sure what you're seeing in my screenshots in the request thread can be a result of the same stuff you're reporting here?

@FeelsGoodMan it looks like they are using the new lighting engine but with settings tweaked to make torches (and only torches) look more or less like they did in the original.

If I were in a black mood, I'd even hazard the guess that they deliberately hampered the SD graphics in order to make Reforged look more appealing.

Out of curiosity, have you noticed that the teamcolours have changed in SD as well?
Red looks-- faintly pinkish to me, now. More vibrant/luminescent than the normal red we've had for ages.

I haven't noticed as I haven't really tried playing. I will check in a few.

My best guess is that they upgraded the additive shader to Blizzard's BlendAdd workflow. It has potential to look better, but requires tweaking of the alpha textures to work.

Either that, or it's a question of gamma vs linear space lighting.

It's strange, because this muggy look is even affecting Blizzard's native cinematic props (Fire, Fire Trap, Smoke, etc)

- They fixed the fire colour/vibrancy of effects
- Smoke Smudge is still broken
- Additive effects still appear underwater
- Waterfall is still broken
