Red tinting screen

Okay, so basically, my picture is tinted *really* red, only once past the start up screen though. I checked the cables, plugged in as far as they can be. The color mode on the monitor is the preset. It just started this morning - no idea what it could be.

EDIT: the problem fixed itself. All good.

Perhaps one of the signal wires in your VGA cable (assuming you use analog RGB) is fraying or wearing out. Glad things are working again though.

I've seen old monitors go yellow, but never red.

Yellow-ish screens means the blue channel is dying. Glowing red/purple could mean the green channel is dying (which I've seen happen before as well).
