Gameplay

Play through 50 waves of normal, air and boss creeps with up to 4 players defending each spawn point. Each final upgrade of the offensive towers get a new passive ability. The final boss will spawn in the middle of the map and walk up towards the center. Your main defense should be placed on the middle to be able to fight the final boss. If the final boss reaches the end point you will lose no matter what. In addition creeps will spawn non-stop from each active spawn point until the boss dies.

"The map sports a small road for the enemy wave to squish and gives you enough advantage to deal damage to every units passing by which is good, another is each tower deals good abilities although I suggest ditching out there build time, this gives more accuracy and time budget in dealing waves."

Hey IcyMind,

Wow, great TD! It's diverse enough to be fun, while simple enough to master easily, and has a fair amount of strategy as to where you build.

One thing to note, for those playing this game, you want to build in the center AND by the spawns. My friends and I only build in the center, and got pwned by the boss. :p

Also I want to know what all the medals are. We got 7/10, and I'm guessing one is for beating the boss, and maybe one for the jackpot on the lottery.

Anyway, great TD, couldn't find any errors or bugs. Very fun, 5/5.

Well, the boss might be a little unbalanced. I tried to host the map online a few times to get people to test it. Unfortunately I was always left with 1-2 leavers because they buillt like 10 lotteries and sold their towers to gamble more, then they left after they lost.

I have not made a medal for getting a high prize in the lottery. If I remember correct the chance is like 1:200000 to win 50k. Simply because you win the game easily if you get the grand prize.

I can PM you the list of medals instead of posting here.

Hey, I'm one of the testers who played with mech_warrior and I'll leave my thoughts below,

Overall I find that rocket tower dominates land enemies most of the game, and if your smart with your resources you can gradually get anti air and saving boxes as you need them. Also, I generally get level 2 ice for most of the game. Either a glaive or a cannon tower is good as an extra to help prevent leaks on those boss rounds, but overall I find most of my money is going into my rocket tower.

Destruction towers are good late game, but only to block off your spawn with. Ideally you want one maxed ice, one maxed destruction, and one maxed anti air on the cornerspot of your spawn late game, while you max golden beam towers for the 3x crit for the boss in the middle. If you max destruction towers you are inevitably going to screw yourself, and beam towers are far cheaper, and have 3x crit compared to destructions 2x crit.

Saving towers are a huge help in the game. I think I had 8 of them In the game where we beat the boss since they have a nice rate of return. I think these are fine, since we only barely beat the boss, even with my income.

Lotterys are useless. There is little point to building one besides getting the medal. Any decent rate of return from that is far too rare to try for, and if it were any easier it'd probably end up breaking the game. I would honestly scrap the tower, but since the medal is already in you can keep it if you want.

Overall, I think this is a fun game and the balance isn't that bad. Instead of giving creeps armor like the one guy suggested (It's not a neccessity in tds), I'd suggest working on balancing out the other towers more. I think the rocket tower is far better against land than any other tower.

The lottery is supposed to be a huge risk, but if you manage to control your gambling it shouldn't have too much effect on the game. Try 10 tickets, then no more if you lost. It's easy to continue trying though.

Well, the rocket tower gets a huge damage increase on the final levels and rises above the glaive tower in power. I will balance those two towers out a bit in a quick update.

Edit 2: I need to update this again to fix a few things. Saving boxes for example need to be limited to like 10 or 15. Air levels need to be even stronger.

Edit 3: I will update the map tomorrow fixing the broken ice tower, letting saving boxes be for now and making the later air levels stronger.

Rageplug TD 1.21d Review

Map Info
Rageplug TD is a Tower Defense type of map or for short TD created by IcyMind. Its quite basic and same with other TD out there though with different sets of enemies and towers to build.
Review
Idea/Concept:
The idea of the map is quite basic for me. It is a TD though I expect more unique features from this which makes it a little or lot different from thousands or millions of TDs out there (of course Warcraft TDs). It could really use some more creativity and some features of the game seems useless also which makes it a waste, no offense. I would give this a rating of 2/5.

Terrain:
The Terrain is quite that bad and could use some more decors. Such as decors and most likely special effects on the point where enemies go and reduce player lives. Tile mixing is quite decent though it should be more of a scattered type and not forming quite squarish shape which looks bad. I would give this a rating of 3/5.

Gameplay:
The game is good though as I've said, this doesnt make it different from other TDs there. Same gameplay with others and such. Medals are quite useless (correct me if I am wrong though). I would rate this 3/5

Overall, this map looks decent for a TD though could use such work. To sum up the scores, you got 8/15 or 3/5.

I'm aware that the idea/concept is nothing new. You will unlock a bonus event if you collect 10/10 medals in the upcoming version (Will most likely be the final update unless there are bugs to fix or balance needed).

Most of the triggering related to the bonus event is done and is in the current version, but some things are still missing.

When this project is out of my mind I will begin on a new TD project. Until now I've had friends to test my maps with me, but atm there are no active wc3 players I know that would test them with me. I will probably post my new TD in the map development section under its progress.

This is a very well made, classic style TD. Remind me of the old days of Wc3.

I really appreciated that everything feels refined and complete. All the features I expected were there, and the award system was kind of interesting as well.

Suggestion: Give unique abilities to max level turrets, instead of the regular "silver" passive bonus.

Looking forward to more from you.
