Question about Preload()

1)Maybe you tested it with a light effect(I mean not heavy)
2)Maybe your computer is good
3)Maybe in your test map you forgot deleting default melee initialization triggers which preloads pretty much everything.

Because I clearly remember preloading effect models was a good thing for me.

Because I clearly remember preloading effect models was a good thing for me.

1. 600 KB model in HQ and high poly
2. Corei5 4 GB RAM but the video card driver occassionally crashes in WARCRAFT 3 maybe due to hardware problem
3. I deleted the Melee Initialization Trigger.

What effect should I see when I did not preload it? FPS Drop? Periodical lag spike?

It is the same thing when an object ability with multiple levels first used in game.My laptop had a little fps drop with effects, so nothing serious like periodic lags.I don't think you even need preload for effects actually since the laptop was old and graphics wasn't his thing.Because I don't remember having this problem with any other pc.
