EDIT: SOLVED

Hello everyone guys.

What I'm trying to achieve is simple. I would like to be able to research stuff in a spellbook.

This is what I've tried:

I've created a spellbook; I've put dummy spells in it; when I click on those abilities, the structure

that launched the dummy spell is replaced with another structure with the researches inside;

at this point I issue a research order, and the replaced structure starts researching;

When I want to stop the research, I simply replace the original structure back.

It seemed to be a legit workaround. However it's pretty messy when it comes to having more than one

ability/research in the spellbook: in particular when you start researching and click something else, when

click back the structure a problem shows up. I was wondering if there is a simpler way to achieve this

kind of thing. I've been struggling for few days, and I'm attaching a sample of this system.

I would really appreciate if any of you could help me out. :cute:

i'm not really sure what's the point of doing it like this, but anyway, maybe you could just hide the research techs on your unit by giving them 0/-11 coordinates. and then issue the tech order whenever an ability is cast.
(see attached)

Hey man, thanks for answering.

The point of making this is having all techs available in one spellbook instead of having them in the default UI. I tried your map, but the problem is that when you start the research and then click on something else, when

you click back, I can see outside the spellbook while still researching... anyways I tried giving 0/-11 coordinates but I still see them...
