Power Orb

I was testing the animating possibilities of Magos model editor.

Well this is the end result.
A floating orb with projectiles orbiting it.

Can be used as a unit, projectile, effect, doodad or attachment.

I really recommend testing this in-game, as the .jpg image cannot show the animations.


Update: Death animation sequence fixed

I added collision sphere, nothing happened.
I modified bounds radius, geoset extents, animation extents... Nothing happened, still unselectable.

And as this model is probably only used as an effect or a projectile, I don't think it will even need to be selectable.
Saves the time wasted on applying locust ability on the model.

Also the model CAN be selected with drag selection and moved around with Ctrl + 2/4/6/8.
 
Hey, u should make a projectile art like one of the orbiting things around the ball, ah, 10/10 its GREAT
 
This thing is amazing, I even tested in-game as a sfx, and it looked incredible! And it stores alot of room! Great Job Kitabatake, And not just great, It Godlike! So Godlike Job! Update: I gave you a 10/10!
 
If i could get it to do the big image in the top (except with the orb staying in one place) itd be great for a laser cannon, sort of like a charge --> attack animation. 10/10 pretty good for your first try.
 
This model is pretty cool ... not at least 'cause the nice color :)
But there's a little negativ point: The model is quite big, a little to big for a missile or a buff.
 
COOLNESS!!!! But.... in response to someone asking if you could give it a walk animation, cant you just convert the file to .mdl then copy a unit animation to this, then reconvert it? I did and it moves like a wisp for me, and since im using it as a skin, it is selectable just fine... omg O_O I......... actually spoke........ modeler.......... IM LEARNIN!!!!!! >XD
 
doesn't really look like the screenshot. anyway, it doesn't qualify as a true weapon orb. but it does make for a very cool looking weapon effect. i like it a lot. it actually will leave a trail as the unit walks much like the foot trail that illidan with wings leaves.

i haven't tested but i think the trail is invisible if the hero is too unlike foot trails.
 
If the upper left picture of the model is while it moves it's epic, it's a model with epic propotions!
