Look at the concept for the guy after Witch-doctor and Barbarian concept from #:10 to 3:25. Looks suspiciously like a necromancer, doesn't it?

*sigh* that whole part of the video was all about mobs. It's most likely a cultist, not a playable character.

True, but most creep concepts they showed took 1 or 2 pictures. The guy about 10 seconds after the witch doctor appeared more necromantic, especially in the picture when he is conjuring that whitish energy in his hand.

They likely have concepts of alot of different character classes that wont make the cut into the game. As far as concept work goes they have been working for at least 2 years on them. Some of the work on the site is dated 2006.

I still have high doubts about Necromancers because the Witch Doctors already have alot of their spells and pretty much fill the dark undead conjuring plague using curser class.

Well, they have already stated that they are only
going to pass the Barbarian class further into d3. All of the other ones will be "executed". We've already seen that on the Witch Doctor. So don't expect a paladin or an elemental sorceress like in diablo 2. Also, they will not have any healing type character (which from my point of view are great since it will remain d2ish in one of the ways)

Currently I've lost the source on the things I said above, so I understand if you wouldnt believe me. Ill try to find them again.

Fallen Shaman. Weird, the thread where I posted that originally is gone, I guess the OP didn't like the way it was headed. I didn't delete it...

Well, mainly because they already have plans to do expansions on all their games. ust like d2 there were only 5 characters in the start. It will be most likely 2 new characters in a new expansion (greedy bastards:p)

Where did they say ONLY the barbarian?

I read the FAQ and they were speaking in plural when they talked about some classes from d2 coming to d3..

actually, i think its better if they release a verison and already have additional content in mind for an expansion

it will only lead to me playing the game faster and be able to experience the true way later for an additional fee, like playing a working BETA verison of the true game

They probably have about 20 class idea's, which they develop and then the most complete, unique classes are chosen, whatever the classes are i reckon they will all be very different to each other.

Dude... Have you realised already that that video is a fake?
That guy, is just a person sharing his thoughts about d3, like we do in these forums.
There are no evidences about a knight class...

If you didnt know however, maybe you should watch the video response where he admit the fake.

it is fake, what he was supposedly was playing was actually the gameplay video, he just timed it to right before the narrator starts talking, and made a pause screen.

Back on to the topic.

I hope Blizzard makes D3 protected against software like Shadow Master and Hero Editor, that shit ruined all the fun in D2.

So far we have a tanking class, and a caster/summoner class. That means we can say bye to the necromancer. Sucks.

Apparently, the Barbarian in D3 is the one from D2, only older now as far as i can tell. I bet that there will be some more old classes as well.

There will be a knight class aswell watch this video YouTube - Diablo 3 LEAKED SPOILERS 1 of 4
You do realize that that guy is a fake?

Anyway I'm guessing that they are going with similar classes that were in DII. These of course are:
-A heavy melee hero, designed to take alot of damage and also dish out damage (Barbarian).
-The kind of "Dark Mage" with lots of more evil centered spells and control over the Undead (Witch Doctor).
-An elemental mage.
-A class which uses bows, crossbows, javelins and other ranged weapons to fight from afar.
-The whole holy knight in shining armour class.

Hm by the way... I found this screenshot today. (dont know how new it is, but blizzard updated their screenshots section yesterday.

What kind of character is this? A low-equipped barbarian? Or could it be a third class?

My guess is that they are just random mercenaries/side kicks/NPCs. Hell, in the gameplay video the player just picked up a few helpers to fight beside him, althought all of them died. I highly doubt that is a playable class, looks more like a generic soldier and not a heroic class.

Actually the story behind the necromancer class being removed was that the warlock was too much like them. Not that they planned for the Death Knight to be like the necromancer.

I personally think that the classes are going to be:
-A mage type. (For elemental damage.)
-A DPS type. (Rogue, archer, engineer, disco bandit...)
-A class the centers around buffing.

When i saw the movies, it looked like they actually maid him so that there could still be a necromancer, besides in D2 there is also the Druid, wich is to a summoner
But the druid is still different from the Necromancer. While the Necromancer was a dark mage with pets, fighting from afar, the Druid was either a close range caster or a shapeshifter with a few pets. The Druid didn't have as much emphasis on the Pets as the Necro had. From what I remember, a Druid couldn't survive solely relying on pets while the necro could easily survive with a fire golem+skeletons.

Lol, I dont wanna sound like a nerd but from all your guys' viewpoints about d2 I can see you were all pretty newb. You prolly never spent much time on battle net and focused more on single player. Druids AND Necromancers would both be slaughtered in no time on battle net if they even attempted to use summons. Summoning druids suck major balls, thats all there is to it. The only way you could make a druid that did shit was with elemental or transforming. Same with necros, their summons are PATHETIC and you would be raped in 2 seconds by a PnB/cursing necro. I am thinking as far as d3 classes go they will probably try and do something new and exciting rather than just sticking to the mold of the old games. I am hoping there is some sort of knight class that can summon a rideable horse that enhances his combat abilities for a skill.

Except Necro skellies were buffed up alot, making a skeleton and skeletal mage build for necros incredibly strong. Also I never said Druids could survive as summoners, hell I even said they couldn't.
