Ported WoW models on HD Reforged Custom Campaign maps?

I want to insert some custom models into some Reforged/HD only maps. I looked through the Ported WoW models and there's a bunch I wanna download and import into a HD/Reforge only custom campaign map. Is there a way I could find out if these models work for a HD only map or do they just usually work by default as long as I change their SD to HD mode in the import manager?

I meant the WoW ported models that's already uploaded on Hive Workshop's ported model section. Do those work right out the bat like I just download it and imported them into the custom campaign map the same as I would any model? Do I need to change their SD to HD for a HD only map. I would test them out to see but I'm afraid of the chance of having the map corrupted. I guess I could always make a backup in case.
 
they should work as-is, but I always recommend making a back-up of your map first (and frequently, whenever possible!). Some reforged models will cause the editor to crash when you re-open the map:

but I believe that only happens when they are using a material with the HD shader. The map will continue to work fine in game though. It won't "corrupt" your map though--you can just delete the model from the map using an MPQ editor and then it should load correctly again.

if the WoW model is listed as compatible with SD though, chances are it isn't using an HD shader material so it should be fine. :thumbs_up:

Yep, pretty much what Purge said. Additionally, it's better to use more safer method in case you want to replace files instead of MPQ Editor (thanks Uncle). There's an option in the World Editor (Save As) where you can convert your map into folder mode so that you don't need to use World Editor to replace broken HD models. After making changes, open the map folder again with World Editor and then re-save it as the default map file so that it can be playable.
