Hehe, Castle Wall Pack: Approved, gonna use it =D
Stone City Doodads: Approved: Very nice detail for citys
Ket's City Houses: Approved =D,, Certainly a good addition to the houses!
Ship doodads: Meh, they are more for a pirate ship, not much addition, srry
And the Trees: Lovely! Going to use also =D,,
 
No Steel type?!? But... then it would be just Pokemon R/B/G/Y, which (let's face it) is old and outdated. Basically, we need the Steel and Dark type. You can still maintain having only the first 151 Pokemon and have the Steel and Dark types available. In fact, I think it's preferable. Then, it would be easier to later on include Pokemon Gold/Silver pokemon. Without those, only having 151 Pokemon leaves somewhat limited gameplay.

Limiting yourself is possibly the worst thing anyone can do. Include the abilities from Emerald (not the Pokemon, though, as they tended to be cheap imitations of old school ones) simply to increase the variety of moves. It was and always will be awesome to see so many moves on the classic Pokemon. To limit those along with the types would be a great idea never realised and would most likely decrease the potential for what the map should (not just could) have been.

Yeah, I think that add an steel and dark type is not an bad idea, as the strategic factors would increase dramaticaly, plus, steel and dark are the cooler pokemon types. And it's strange to have an city named SilverPlate with an Flying or Water gym...

Okay, but for the first world with only 151 Pokémon, what steel Pokémon would you have? Besides magnemite and Magneton,, there are no real steel Pokémon Right?
And for dark, the same point, try to find me real dark Pokémon within those 151,
Ok, i will make Silverplate Steel Gym, if you find me enough Pokémon, that is about 2 or 3 more (we have Magnemite and ton)

Oh, one more thing: How are we going to make different Pokémon Types? Just armor? Or make it some passive ability

Oh, again, thedeathhunterxx, do you really need WEU or that other one?
 
Well, it's not only Pokemon that are Steel/Dark type, it's also the moves. Besides, including it in the first world won't hurt (even if it is rarely used) because the data will be transfered from map to map. That way, you can go back into other regions.

As for making Steelix Steel/Dark type or changing the types of other Pokemon, it feels as though it would be an absolute insult to the original game. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

As for Pokemon types, base those abilities off of Moon Glaive. Then, when you're doing the damage it takes those abilities into consideration depending on the type of the technique being used. Perhaps you could create an integer variable for each type so that it will save a whole lot of tedious coding?

and maybe you can change dragonites type. im sick of dragonite just being a dragon :/ he should be dark and dragon !

ohh and for types, it should be triggered. Since there are like 20 types, there isn't enough armor types for it.

Ok, good ^^,, and for the types: You are right, but not triggering, just passive abilitys, so you can add and remove it easily,, (And maybe that they have some buff so checking is easy)

Ok, the Dragonite thing, i will think about it ^^,,
For everyone else: Already found some good Steel and Dark Types?
Cause a steel Gym with only Magnemite and Magneton really sucks,,

What the hell, deathhunter? You totally go against what I say and just repeat back what I already said about triggering the types, only in an undeveloped fashion. Do you even read my posts? I already explained that using dummy abilities is the way to go.

As for changing types of Pokemon, I feel really against them (though if you EVER read any of my posts, you would know that, wouldn't you?) as it would go against fans and it could possibly lead to certain imbalances. Vileplume is Grass/Poison already, why the hell would you change that?!?

As for changing Dragonite, I think that's a really bad idea. I think it's a bad idea to change any of the types of any Pokemon just for the sake of having a leader that can use it or just because you're 'sick' of it. As for the Steel gym, save it for when you have Johto Pokemon, too, so you can include Steelix, Skarmory, Foretress and/or Scizor. Don't think 'Oh, I've got to change the types of this Pokemon so it will fit'.

Perhaps I should make myself clearer. The way to go is to make it you can travel back to previous regions. So, every Pokemon we're going to use will need to be in the first one so it can transfer easily. With that in mind, even if you do put a Steel type leader in the first region, they could use Johto Pokemon as a sort of 'preview' or 'secret', creating a feeling of completion to the game.

Changing types of Pokemon is a terrible idea, as there is nothing wrong with the types at the moment. And, once again, I ALREADY TOLD YOU HOW TO DO THE TYPES!!!

I don't think the icons will be approved in Hive, as they're made almost entirely with filters. But you is not forced to use only approved icons in your map. If you just transform an image into an icon and using in an map, the map don't will be rejected because of the icon.

It's really an bad idea to change pokemon types in the map, as the types are already been approved by the players and it's strange, because many people gonna not play the map just because the Dragonite is Dark instead of Dragon.
 
Well, En_Fuego, if you read the previous posts, you'd know that deathhunter was suggesting we make Dragonite a dark type pokemon, which I responded it would be a bad idea to change the types of any pokemon. Also, if you actually played Pokemon Gold/Silver properly, you'd know that Vileplume is Grass/Poison. Just because the Ghost using Elite Four member has it does not mean that it's a dark type Pokemon. It is still, in fact, a Grass/Poison type. The only time they changed a pokemon's type was to add the Steel classification to Magnemite/Magneton. Apart from that, everything has stayed the same, which is why it would be a bad idea to change a pokemon's type just for the sake of 'it would be different' or just because you're 'sick of it'. There is no need for a Steel gym in the first region (unless you want to chuck in Steelix and Scizor in the area where you can only get the first 151 Pokemon) as it would be more suited to a region with the actual Johto pokemon.

Basically, it should go like this: In the Object Editor for all regions, it will have every single Pokemon available. You cannot get any of the Johto ones in the first region (as the ones that are evolutions of Kanto Pokemon will require specific items which can be acquired later on in the game), but they will become available in the second region. Then, after completing the second region, you can go to Johto and Kanto. This is, I believe, the best way to get maximum playability + a feel of the original game without setting our goals too high. Changing type of Pokemon is not necessary at all, not in the widest stretch of the imagination.

Correct. This map will be like any new pokemon game:
Always innovating, but keeping the tradition.

And, an Dragonite is not well suited for dark type, think about:
-He is orange.
-Have an cute happy face.
-And, most obvious, he's from the First Generation and there were any dark type in that time. (Of course, Magnemite and Tom, but it's made from pure steel and magnet).

Ok, to be clear for everyone: There is not going to be any change of Pokémon Types!
There is NOT going to be any steel/dark in the first world (Also no Gym, Silverplate will be used in second world)

And now: I would like to say to everybody: Please stay nice to each other,,
All your ideas will be taken in consideration (except for type change from now on!)

Ok, next: Announcement, after thedeathhunterxx has terrained his part, i would like to say to you all: A demo version is coming! You will be able to choose from 3 starting Pokémon, and your first thing to do is train and defeat the first Gym! (That is as far as you all can go, since rest is not done yet :grin:)
This means: I will be using alot of my time working on getting every needed part for the demo ready and making you guys have a very nice time playing =D,,
Remember: It will only be a demo version so no big things yet, no enemys like team Rocket, and you will be 'done' after defeating the first Gym! (You wont get much further, you can train with some Pokémon, but that is all!

Well, not really, in my opinion: It is easy to make and can be done easily at the last moment, First we need to make attacks (like you did =)) and make the EncounterCreep System good, so you dont encounter a golbat lvl 2 in first grass xD
Then we of course need more modelers! D=<
I made a thread on Project Recruitment, bumped it, but still no one answers,,
Niddhogg-kun is (sorry Niddhogg-kun) but a bit lazy and he obviously cant do it all alone,, (even if he wouldnt be lazy)
Because we cant do models on last moment, it takes time to make, search and so on for them,,

Well, after that the problem with different types of Attacks on different Types of Pokémon, I think i got the right solution now, but it will take for every attack to be checked what type it is and then some big if/then/else,,

But i think we are on the right way to the Very first Map! =D,,
Since i am sick today, i got plenty of time to work on it (otherwise i would have to go to my Work =( )

Is this enough information? =P

Well, you know the Pokémon games right?
In first grass you only encounter Caterpie, Ratatta, Pidgey and Weedle (or so) But since i have done every Unit-type (Every Pokémon sort (Not like fighting, but like Dragonite, Weedle)) in a variable that has an array filled with the number of that pokémon,, it will be no system, but a huge trigger xD

Uuuuh, Well, thedeathhunter had the idea of making an (additional) 'RPG Camera' in it,,
I dont know what you all think about that? But i think it is an nice idea, you can choose yourself, normal camera locked to trainer, or camera that you can freely move around trainer,,
If you want, you can make an camera system in GUI, i would like to see one it GUI =P
It needs to rotate around the trainer, no need to make it MUI or MPI, since it is Singe Player eh =P
you rotate with Arrow keys, and you can set distance with up/down arrow keys,,
(But make some max and min distance that i can easily edit =P)

You want to do that? =D

No, dont come with one uploaded on THW, i want in GUI and you have to be the maker =D xD

Are you serious? An effictient, non-leaking, fast working, Camera system that can change distance, rotation, and still supports scrolling?
It also needs to support z-axis, since there will be some hills in the game xD

Yes =D,, but not Angle of Attack, the angle at which you look at the unit(like: when you push right arrow key, you get +1 angle every 0.03 secs or so, and when you release it, you will be looking at the right side of the unit, when you hold left arrow key for some time, you will look at his left side,,)
AND it needs to support Scrolling, so you can scroll without returning to normal game camera,, but still look at an different angle of attack

Oh, and is there an icon that indicates steel? Cuase i can only find shields and armor, but no real nice steel plate or something =P,,

Hmm, for the icon, you could use improved rafonary (building upgrade) or something : /

For the system: Here it is. I might work a little more on it, don't really work 100% as i want. Might make the increase/decrease smoother, and an option to turn off that the camera also follows facing.

Omg nice! =D,,
Only thing that could be improved, smoothen the distance to target change,, but you already mentioned that ;)
And one thing that was NOT needed but is a nice addition, the rotation change when you make the unit face an other angle =P,, it is quite annoying actually, but that is just my opinion xD,,
Great job on this! =D,, really good!

I would give you rep, but need to spread around first xD

Heh, thanks for the nearly made rep :p

Both things you mentioned, am i working on to fix :p

Adding a command to turn on/off the camera change when you turn, and smoother distance change.

Also, it aint 100% compitable with Terrain hieght. Looked wierd when i tried to make it.
The best solution will just be to not having hills that gets so big so fast, as the one i made in my terrain. And just adding a minimum of 100-150 range distance.

Wait an hour, and a better ver is up :p

I dont know if you just said what i want to say now so i just say it:
2 more improvements:
1) Add minimum distance to target, i dont want to see the ground through his shoes =P,,
2) When i press left, it goes to the right (for me),, i dont know if i stated it wrong, but i want it to go the exact other way xD,, so change the + to -, and the - to + =)

That was it =)

Its finished!

Ok, the cam system is finished, and i made it so simple i could.

It now has:
-Option to turn on/off the auto-facing
-Smooth camera applying, looks pretty neat :D (The smooth-factor can be changed)
-Minimum distance, wich also can be changed (its 500 atm, wich infact, is pretty close o_O

Only supports Player 1, if anybody else than Yixx needs it, tell me, and ill make a MPI version.

if no one is terraining right now...

might as well give me the map now so that i can terrain with it...since no one is really doing anything.. unless yixx and wazz still have things planned for it before i terrain it.

and as i terrain, im going to ask alot of questions, to help make this terrain good...esecially about where things are located.
