Yo, so I'm playing Pokemon Emerald and I've gotten to the Elite Four rather easily. The thing is, I have a four-man team and right about now I figure would be a good time to add an additional 2.

What I have so far is Blaziken (47), Gyarados (44), Flygon (49), and Magnetic (46).

This, with the addition/subtraction of a Ninjask at the beginning, has been pretty much the unbeatable lineup. Up until the Elite Four, that is.

What I need help with is an additional two. The first two that come to mind would be Rayquaza (70) and Wobofet (low level but can be trained easily). I don't really like the idea of Rayquaza, and all Wobofet can do is spam defense and counter special/physical attacks for 2x the damage which isn't something I want to rely on.

So my question for you is, any ideas?

Get Gardevoir.
Calm mind + psychic (may lover sp.def ftw) is fukken win combo. Psy attacks work almost on anything so I usually like to keep at least one psy pokemon on my team and Gardevoir just happens to be pretty imba psy pokemon.

Hmm that's interesting, but doesn't Gardevoir have really low health? I don't really see myself using Calm Mind unless I'm doing a Baton Pass team or something...It'd get killed rather quickly unless you have paralysis or sleep

Ah, it's okay. I prefer Bulbapedia. I was just too lazy to check ^.^

It took me longer to find a Ralts in the damned area than it will take to evolve it into Gardevoir x_x

For the last spot I'm thinking a Castform. It has average stats and can perform nasty combos if it leads. Sunny Day (unless it's already Sunny) + Solarbeam/Sunny Day + Blaziken. I could also teach Castform Overheat to just mega burn everything.

Any ideas?

Groudon could be kick ass also. Superior stats than Castform has (obviously :s), passive sunny, Fire Blast+sunny effect and (If the sunny effect remains after Groudon is switched, not sure) Blaziken+sunny effect. Not sure if you wanna use legendary though :p

oh right

dark -> blaziken, keep using fighting
ghost -> make sure some guy knows a dark move. Crunch works well.
fire I think it was? Just spam surf on the fire types.
dragon -> blizzard/ice beam ftw

steven or whatever his name is uses steel, so use water for that. (A lot of steel types are also part rock/ground so fire isn't as good)

...or was that for pearl? I forgot D:

thanks for the already-known tips...the problem is, the members of the elite four aren't limited to their own specialty, meaning they have dual-types/counters.

Also, moves in this game have limited PP, that's why I need additional pokemon for my team. That way I don't have to completely exhaust one's moves before I get to Drake.

I just played through the game again, and just beat the elite four. I had:

Gardevoir lvl 51, Psychic, Shockwave, Thunderbolt, Calm Mind
Sharpedo lvl 40, Slash, Crunch, Screech, Surf
Blaziken lvl 45, Brick Break, Blaze Kick, Strength, Dynamicpunch
Wailord lvl 42, Waterfall, Surf, Rock Smash, Dive

Plus a couple of other really low ones.

I basically used Gardevoir to win the whole lot except the first guy (dark) who I used Blaziken for. Oh, and Sharpedo came in handy a little bit on the ghost one.

My strategy for Gardevoir was:
Start: spam calm mind five times, healing if needed
Next: just spam all the damaging moves you have

It worked a dream.
