I lost my puppy after a year and she was like my little furry daughter and I loved her so much and still do love her so much it really hurts now.. I want to die but I know I won't but it hurts so much I'm really depressed.. can anyone please help me by telling me what you did to ease the pain of losing a much loved pet? Thanks..

I have a cat. Although she is not dead, i can imagine her dieing, since she is old. Anyways, i guess there is two ways :
1. Buy a new pet
2. Leave the past behind.

I know failblog, but why did you give a link to it?

*Facepalms.*

I saved the lectures, since against all odds, I still believe people on the internet have common sense to some degree. Here's a throughout explanation on why my link points to failblog of all the sites;

Dear Azndragon,

Your loss is most saddening, but you have to understand that the departures of things we love have to eventually happen. It's a fact that we all have to accept and tolerate, you have to move on and resist the sorrow coming over you. Life is young, you have a lot of things awaiting you and even though the poor soul will never be replaced, there are a vast number of other opportunities of love, joy and excitement in later life.

Since I understand that such an issue might be hard to cope with, I recommend you cheer up as soon as possible, failblog has all the entertainment you need to get your minds off the deep sorrow the recent developments caused.

I hope I could be of help.

Your friend,

Thank you but.. she could have stayed with me for atleast another 13 years..

I lost a cat of mne that we had for about 13 or so years. I sobbed for about a day. I was kindof depress for a week... There really isin't anything you can do about it... it may jsut pass in time, or it may never go away... its hard to say... We got another cat though, and while i will never say that this cat was a replacement, i will promise that he healed the wounds caused by my other cats death. We gave our cat a good funeral...

So i wish you luck, and i am really sorry about your loss. :( its kindof like a family member dies...

Well, I have arather vast experiance when it comes to this due to numerous people + pets dieing while I was about 6 or so, so this is what I did and what exactly happend to me as an after affect of it.

In this I shall give titles to the pets for some reason I cannot explain.

age of 3:
Death toll:
First grandparent (closest to me)
Second grandparent
Blue the curious

How:
Humans: Severe sun burn + heart attack
Pet: ran onto a busy road - you can guess what happend

Dealt by:
Ate pile loads of food as well as cried mey eyes out for a few days

Verdict:
Bad way to deal with pain

Aftermath:
Became rather moody for a few years

Age of 5:
Death toll:
Nicodemus the Mimic
Katie the Gaurd kitty

How:
Neigbour had Katie put down for scatching her once (without concent)
Nicodemus copied katie as far as following her around, in the end the same neighour took him to paris and came back without him

Dealt by:
Ignoring it happend

Verdict:
Very very bad way to deal with pain

Aftermath:
Became very self concious of wether or not my grief was visible to others (later developed into being self concious about everything)

Age: 7
Death toll:
Tomasina the mother

How:
Developed cancer in the overies soon after giving birth to 5 cats.

Dealt by:
releasing grief over a period of time when it would be beleived for a differant reason, of cource this made me look weak If I sobbed over something so petty to others.

Verdict: Affective, I'd say it worked

Aftermath:
Developed an Iron shell as it were which made all emotion of bad news and suchlike not be visible to any nor allow emotions to change at all but instead lowers mood for a while

Age 11:
Death toll:
Third Grandparent (this one has a huge trophy cabinet)
Scratch the Vicious

How:
Humans: death on the operating table due to wind pipe becoming logged and hiaving to 'rewire' his insides
Pets: Attacked a moving car and was crushed under the tires

Dealt by;
No immediate emotion what so ever (iron shell) later had slight visible grieving at funerals (unlike all others inwhich I cried my eyes out)

Verdict:
Unknown, reaction created by last method of dealing with pain.

Aftermath:
Became cotious about everything around me

these are the most affecting ones, the total death toll in my life so far is somewere nearing 18 living things such as cats, ginuepigs, rabbits, grandparents, hamsters etc.
after somuch death you just stop feeling anything anymore I suppose.
but what I'd say is, covering it up isn't healthy. Trying to ignore it isn't healthy. Trying to eat tonne of food isn't healthy.
I would advise you either use comedy or give yourself somehting to laugh at or as an alternativ/+ you can release it slowly, you'll be generally slightly depressed for a while but not so much that you want to kill yourself or any suchthing nearing that.

I hope this helped in some way.
