Hey guys,

I was wondering if I could trigger an animation of an item. I'd like to play the birth animation of some item, but GUI triggers seem to allow animations for units and doodads only. I couldn't find anything neither in the triggers list nor in the forums here.
Any idea how I could achieve this? I was thinking of Jass maybe, but I have no clue at all about Jass (however I'd probably be able to follow simple instructions or copy-paste a script if someone's able to help me out here)
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you! :)

the item can play 3-4 animations according to events:
  • birth - when initially placed
  • stand - when nothing is happening
  • death - when taken or destroyed
  • (not sure if this one even works) decay - after death

So while you can influence what happens with the item (and thus which of those 4 animations plays) you cannot directly cause an item to play an animation. You would have to use dummy units in its place, and hide the item's model.

I didn't think of a dummy, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for your help, Happy Tauren! :)
