Well there may be old threads that have information or tutorails in them that people may want to access, but I agree, there are some threads that could be deleted to save space, but I think is would be a bit hard on the Admins to go around and shuffle through the 2000+ threads in the database, no?

In truth, forum posts don't take up tons of room in the database, and databases are made to scale well...

In other words, deleting or keeping a few hundred topics won't change things much.

Why remove saved knowledge? Think about all map threads for example. If you remove them people have to ask teh same questions all over again, instead of just using the search function.
Quoted for truth, agreed and seconded.

As a general rule it's fine if old threads exist:

The only problem with keeping them may be that if such threads contain a great many attachments which (for the most part) serve no important purpose. Old maps, models and other resources are better placed in their respective public resource sections anyway, rather than buried in some moldy old thread.

[off topic] The Chieftain has recently implemented a new vBulletin script that auto-magically closes threads after six months of inactivity have passed.

He has also shared his product with other webmasters: Automatic Thread Closing Details »»

This has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. Unlike Darky and Wc3sear.ch we aren't crappy, Ralle doesn't intend on leaving anytime soon, and we aren't way over our hosting limit for bandwidth and storage. This site is doing worlds better then wc3sear.ch thanks.
A little harsh on Darky, no?
