A day or two ago my AVG showed up a warning "Detected tracking cookie : atdmt@owner[1(2)]. After deleting it, it shows up again. I searched several forums and sites for a solution but I found none.
It has something to do with atdmt.com and atlassolutions. I am worried even if it is as harmless as they say, because it's immunity to manual deletion, file shredding and both done in safe mode, has a purpose which I don't want to find out. Interesting thing is that it shows up every time I start MSN, Chrome and Steam. How did I get it? Don't ask you wouldn't believe it anyways.
AVG, Spybot, Zone Alarm, and even CCleaner and Windows defender can't get it.
I am asking how do I delete it permanently.

Reinstall your OS, that would be pretty effective at removing it.

You could also try seing which process creates it using a utility like processexporer and then disabling that utility on startup.

However reinstalling the OS will have the greats effect at removing it. It could also just be MSN fucking around, as it is pretty much a virus and will keep resurecting itself once installed if deleted.

Just another question. Does original copy of Windows XP has a limit of how many times can it be installed/reinstalled.

:D. Get a fucking Mac, sure you'll sacrifice many games and WE tools, but you can still play classics such as EV Nova (and...then...all the Blizzard games, except for Diablo (only #1: #2 is fucking ownage)), and a widely better interface and many pros. Also, you won't find many fuckups or viruses, and the OS is taken care of, and you get better OS's faster, unlike Slower OS's worse (MS).

Please leave these sorts of comments out. I doubt he wants a Mac, and would just like to have his question answered.

Macs are only safe because they are not used a lot. Virus and spyware makers target the most affected pool of people. Thus as macs take more of the market shair from microsoft, they will be targets more until it is safer to use windows rather than macs. Same goes with linux.

Proof for this? Well simply look at firefox. Everyone said it was so safe and that IE was too unsafe and crap. Now that IE and fire fox are about equal in market shair, both are about equal in the security problems, with firefox getting targeted with bad scripts and specific exploits as well as IE. Basically the safest professional software is software that few people use, and by using it you reduce its safeness.

Macs still have more stable code, meaning that when Mac is ruling the market, it will still have less bugs.
I would say you use a Mac too? Each OS has its benefits, each still developing. Its in people's taste in what they like; Mac has a great interface, but its just too much for me (a lot different so I'm not quite aware of it yet).

Reinstalling with Windows XP would be effective, but not in all cases. If it does resurrect, I would create backups, format my computer using the Recovery Console on the Windows XP disk and reinstall it; then I would immediately install everything (but first the security tools) and then it would be fine (also benefiting faster computer speeds etc...).

No they don't have a more "stable code", where the fuck did you get that from?

Macs will never "rule" the market, so your theory will never be tested either way. Know why? Cause they suck fat dick, that's why. And people don't buy things that suck fat dick.

If this is true, and also based on other threads on Computer Topics, then I would suggest a evidential check before posting. I can see some which needs work Ricardo, and many are still developing. Perfection is not yet a possibility for OS, and it will also (again) depend on what people think and their opinion's.
