Wc3 sucked when it came to normal games, but sc2 is pwnage.

I think you can host games, but it become private game locked I think and old beta maps no longer works afaik. I don't know....

For me that's: war3 custom maps sucked, war3 melee pwnage and sc2 melee&custom pwnage. Err no offense, I dont mean the war3 maps here. And I like the shooters, those i played in May felt like HL/CS you got the feeling it's not sc2

Btw there goes my global Rank#2 in WCX Nagrand League (micro arena) with this new patch :/ ... If you ever saw rank 2nd in the micro arena in May, that was me

Their are tons of custom maps that arrant meele or chess.... And I hate the way you say "upload some maps". It seems like you just wanna push out (to be blunt) whatever crap you created in an hour. Only quality maps should be played and everyone should push to make multiplayer maps only if other people would enjoy them. When a person makes a map they feel proud because its their creation. This doesn't carry over to the random person looking for quality entertainment, and so it isn't a good experience for them, and it (every so slightly) degrades the community.

So if you made a cool map and spent more then 5 days on it, then by all means share it. But if this was somthing you created within a short amount of time It probably is just somthing that only you would think is cool and is a waste of others time.

But you certainly dont have to listen to me, you can do what you want, and have fun doing it.

No there are not, any you see you must be imagining. I logged into Europe Battlenet 2.0 a few seconds ago and there is still only Chess Craft 0.1 and only blizzard maps.

Maybe you do not under stand us. It would be nice if WE COULD UPLOAD CUSTOM MAPS. Currently it provides errors apparently every time you try to publish a map which is why there is only Chess Craft 0.1 which must have eithor been submitted by blizzard or before they messed with the publishing server (a few minute window as the server came online).

Maybe in America land there are more than 1 non melee custom map but here in Europe there is no such thing.

Ah I see. I did not realize their was such a difference between the servers (and dont quite understand why their would even be such a difference). But in America custom maps are working fine, though I havent tried to upload any, but playing ones other then regular/chess work.

As for not uploading maps (weather the EU servers are working or not working properly) I stand by what I said. People who are knew shouldn't try to upload their maps to the public. However asking questions on how to do things/fix things is encouraged. Here (if you have not found these already) is a list of many trigger tutorials (in english) you may find helpful. http://www.jx3.net/tdg/forum/viewforum.php?f=101&sid=abce511532d2788fec6d8f978cad6276

The real problem here isn't publishing, its their horrible popularity sort system.

-This system promotes people to release unfinished buggy maps. Why? Because if they don't, their map will start on page 15 rather than page 1, and will never be seen.

-It also emphasizes small games over big games (in terms of players and length). A 1v1 map that lasts 5 minutes vs a 7v7 map that lasts a full hour - the small map would be 84 times as popular by Bnet's system, considering that both have an equivalent number of players.

-Oh yes, heres the best part: new published maps are no longer displayed in the list. At all. Even if you scroll to the very very bottom, you won't see it. The only way to find these maps is by searching. Even worse: this is a beta in early stages. We probably have only seen about 25% (conservative estimate) of the maps that will be on Bnet six months in the future. This means that unless something changes, we will end up with 75% of the maps not even being shown. Even so, even if they are they will end up being a good 10-20 pages back, meaning that they will not get played, ever.

I shouldn't need to tell anyone how this kind of system, where popularity is the only sorting method, will ruin the Starcraft II modding scene. I still have some hope in Blizzard though, that they actually have some kind of plan to fix this; because if they don't there is literally no point to making maps at all after the first couple pages of popularity have been filled.

I agree, that popularity system seems flawed.
