New Sc2 Theme

Hey dudes,

I've been working on this SC2 theme:

for some time now and since our SC2 theme does not look well, I wanted to ask you if you'd like to change the theme.

Erm not really, I would rather stay with the old one. Like that Starcraft 2 text is a bit too stretched, plus I kinda llike don't like it's presence there, better not to have any big spaces between the upper part's buttons to different sections and main part. That planet and esspecially the corners of all windows or whatever are very awesome...

You know, if I were you I would better try to modify the old Starcraft 2 theme we have...

We can always change that. The logo is just a placeholder, so is the upper part.

This is only the main concept and an early WIP.

Can you elaborate? This is only a WIP, you can still get the old stuff into it.
We can remove the news, and put some cool stuff into it.

Well, not too sure, but wouldn't the new one with the (by the way awesome) background take much longer to load? Excuse me if I'm wrong.

Not that much, with the right compression it will be like nothing.
And btw, we could also remove that planet picture.

I'd argue that the simpler theme (that we have at the moment) is superior. Flashy graphics can be annoying.

The current theme is fine, it just needs an option to swap colours (if it doesn't already, I just checked it out quickly and noticed there's an utter overload of blue).

Your WIP has too much details in the background areas and the planet will disappear behind the boxes (assuming we'd have as wide boxes as with this WarCraft Theme, your super-slim boxes [I do realize that's just to show off for now] aren't going to work).

I like it, but I don't think it's that much different, the layout is - but that would annoy some people who are used to the Warcraft skin layout.

IMO, keep the same general color scheme, but change the borders. It would be nice to be the only SC2 community around which doesn't have everything made in eye-rape blue (starting to hate that color now)

Maybe that zerg suggestion would be a good one then? Purple/browny or something. With tentacle borders?

That'd really help thw stand out against the crowd, the terran/blue thing is becoming a bit stale xD

The SC2 theme we currently have is perfect. Sticking with Terran would seem to be consistent, given that for WC3 we stuck with Night Elf.

I personally, would like to see a protoss theme. The industrial sci fi theme gets old and depressing.

Also could we be allowed to switch to the wc3 theme in the sc2 section? The wc3 theme loads faster for me (and I'm assuming other people too) and is easier on the eyes - I mean now that it's not a small sc2 section in a wc3 site then the whole you can have the sc2 theme in the wc3 forums but not the other way around is no longer really justified.

Anything is better than the current. Anarchon's skin may need some polishing buy looks nice. Also, We Require More Mineralissssss for rep icons

The rep gems are fine - it's not like they had any connection to wc3 anyways.

It would just be nice for more options though (also perhaps some none wc3 or sc2 related themes eh? Some of the unreleased themes could look good finished).

This new theme ... I saw it for a minute and I just want say: I'm proud of it, that I have nothing to do with Sc2.

Game sux anyway but this theme - no sorry don't like it. And I think we don't think we need a Wc3 or Sc2 theme
we need a HIVE-theme.

Neutral to everything - because HIVE is unique, so we need a unique theme, nothing special to one game!!!

Well I actually like that junky terran style...
Anyway, Nikita is right, we can't combine all styles in one, that would look ugly, but we can make the style fo each race, even if that would take more time...

I really think that a zerg theme would fit best, if we would only allow 1 thme, because we are the HIVEworkshop after all.

Really I've never bought on to the whole sc2 craze, but still that just seems so cliche imo. I guess doing multiple themes could be good, but what I'd personally like to see:
-Unlock the theme in the sc2 forums to fit with what you have it normally set on
-a protoss theme
-themes unrelated to Blizzard games in general added in
