These come from my Dreamers map project -- which will be getting a much-needed update very soon -- as part of a new central city. It features a church, guild, inns, markets, library, courthouse, and several other important places of interest to the story. So, (drumroll) 65 enterable buildings and 17,000 doodads later, here it is:

I love it, however, it does get a bit monotonous. Add some flavour and spice to it like banners, more streetlights, benches, gardens and some random things to make some of the houses look unique (or different) to the rest. I also think you should add some windows in the houses.

Also, you need to add some lighting/weather.

Add some fish, bubbles row boats, and other stuff to the water. Add flags, and other interior.

I appreciate the criticism, but I should have been clearer: the whole city is still very much a work in progress since the map itself is still in progress. But I'm not posting this here to create a typical terrain from a single vantage point, this is all very playable and thus it had to first fulfill that criteria. I'm posting to show the scope of the city itself and its architecture, not create a pretty atmosphere. This is likely the reason for the "it's empty" comments. In the process of making the map I'm not yet at the point that I'm adding characters and citydwellers to the map, so naturally it looks empty without people. I also liked the comment about making the buildings more unique, and that is part of my plan, but it won't come until later when I start placing residents and shops.

I have taken the need for some atmosphere into account, and I tried to start that in the newest screenshot. It's of the prison, which lies a distance away from the city itself.
