New commer :) and some problems

Hi guys(and ladies) im new in hiveworkshop and at start I just want to say HI and that from me at start.

From about week+ i started with my first W3 map and glad i going fine and many tutorials are rly helpful. Unfortunately i have one big problem which is my non knowledge about making models. Ow i didnt maintain that I have making like DotA style map in One Piece world, bad for me I cant find any models or any others things connected with this subject.

I apply for your help with finding or helping with make models from One Piece characters and a bit with spells.

Less but also important problem is -repick, I know it was point in couple of topic but I still cant do it and it doesnt work :/ Also I think my -ar more is wrong because It picking always the same char.

Thanks 4 help and sry 4 any mistakes.. i completely tired :slp:

Or just check out the entire tutorial section and see there are probably a few tutorials that would be appropriate for you to have a look at. It would never hurt to have another good modeler around either.

I don't know the models nor repick, but I've had a similar problem with the random numbers/heroes/variables. Just find somewhere in the WE'S preferences "use fixed random seed" and uncheck it, it will work fine.
And to the repick - could you post the trigger, or triggers associated with it, here? We can't help you when you say "Repick doesn't work, I need help"...

I have two different tavern and now about 5hero(will be more) in each of them. Unfortunately my "-repick" command working like AR mode but always choosing same hero and isnt work after other commands :(

AllRandom command <= it stops working while I start with repick :/

did u read my post to the end? :/ I'm pretty sure the ar problem can be fixed by disabling "Use fixed random seed" in the preferences. Btw, there is a TRIGGER tag in the post form, you don't have to upload it as images ;)

I'll look into the repick now...

Your repick isn't wroking because this:

  • Unit - Create 1 Heros_All[RandomTotal_All] for player at (player start location) Facing default building facing degrees
Should be:

  • Set Random_Hero = (Random integer number between 1 and RandomTotal_all)
  • Unit - Create 1 Heros_All[RandomData_All[Random_Hero]] for player at (player start location) Facing default building facing degrees
Provied that there is nothing wrong with your all random trigger, which from the looks of things there is (I'll edit this post for that later) this should get it working.

Also:
  • Unit - Remove (Triggering unit) from the game
Should be:
  • Unit - Remove (Picked unit) from the game

grrr.. still doesnt work :( I have changed all like did u said Tank-Commander and there still is a problem :( This damn repick getting me crazyy =.= in both way when I pick -ar (AllRandom) or -ap (AllPick) and type command -repick it still doesnt work :( weird :sad:

Im just wander.. is there a way to open damaged map? For example I opened random map from thoes I dl but when I try to open them there is a error like this one

After clicked OK wordeditor is instant closed. :( In some maps there is many useful things.. (e.g. fallen project or not finished maps)

Did you set Temp_Group to enum the units owned by the player?
Also, it is easier to use Trigger Tags than images. Just right-click the event and Copy As Text.

You cannot open protected maps and deprotecting them is against the rules. The legal way is to contact the map creator to find out how they did something. (Unfortunately this will not always work since they could have left WC3 modding. You could always ask on the forum though. ;D)

yhym.. and there is a problem because most of them re no longer with worldeditor or contact with them is impa :cry: Is there any other way and legal way to use thoes maps??
And also.. how to protect map, it would be usefull 4 mine :D

You have the action:
  • Unit Group - Pick every unit in Temp_Group and do (Actions)
But you do not specify who is in Temp_Group. You are doing things to people in the group, however, noone is in the group. Use an action to set Temp_Group to every player owned by (Triggering Player), so that when the loop starts, people are in the group. HOWEVER, if there are summons, this trigger will replace them with heroes as well, so you may want to add some If/then/else safety guards.

i set Variable type 'unit group', name Temp_group, array non and initial value which say 'empty unit group (default)' <= cant change last bit..

hmm.. what u mean "(your unit)"? i havnt seen any similar command/set/verable.. also tried with Picked Unit etc but same doesnt work :( I also think that you meant to do like this:

  • Actions
  • Unit Group - Add Monkey D. Luffy to Temp_group
But i couldnt set him there... :(

Ok.. working now but not like i wanted to, cause it gave me 2nd hero and gave extra shop to other team as a hero.. o_O
I think it something with like vosty (If/then/else) but how to set it?? and also.. how to make -repick work after i use other command like -ar or simple -ap???

Ahh, he meant Your unit as something that you set (maybe when you create the unit you want to use with the trigger, set it to a variable and then call the variable)...

Please read some basic tutorials :/

May I point something VERY important out.
In your first trigger called Command Repick, you use the right command to set all of teh units to Temp_Group
HOWEVER in you second trigger called Repick, you drop the command, even though it is the command you've been looking for. Why did you do this?


Btw, please, spend more time in the tutorial section. I spent a good month jsut reading random tutorials (Even for things I didn't need to know) just to get used to the editor and exploiting all of its possibilities.
I seriously hope this answered you question. Else I don't know exactly where to help you.


EDIT: Btw, the reason you tavern converted to a hero is because there is no If/then/else to checki if (picked unit) is a hero. To learn more about them, read a tutorial.

If you have any problems or questions, write it here i'll be more than glad to answer. :) And by the way don't look in the random trigger at those mega lots of If/Then/Else, it is fixed in my working comp by using String variables.
