Do be aware that will not resize the minimap image but will resize the minimap overlay. As such navigating using the minimap becomes hard if not impossible as the overlays reflect the actual camera bound area but the minimap image will reflect whatever you set it to in the editor (by default the camera bounds set in the editor).

This bug was fixed in SC2 where it does resize the minimap image appropriately unfortunately that does not help you...

If the camera bound areas are hard-coded (the same between sessions) then you can make custom mini-map images for these and display them as overlays behind the usual overlay content. This allows the minimap to be used still but does require some additional file space.
