    there are 3 cases:

-the place on the model is invisible

-the place on the model shows up in teamcolors

-the place on the model is just white

Remember 32bits .tga because 24bits does not have any alpha channels

    Mycklern:
Use the lasso tool around the desired area, then open the channel window and view alpha-channel. Now paint the lasso area with black color. Now go back to the normal channel and cut the area... That's all.

If that still didn't work than either you didn't do it right, or there is a problem with your program or it's just like Hueter said: "You can't alpha out a place on the model which is invisible".

I'm having the same problem. I followed exactly what Sopho and andyx said but its still not working. The removed sections of the skin are still appearing white in-game. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

I'm having the same problem a lot. Apparently, you have to be -extremely- careful with what you delete. Even if you delete&alpha a single pixel that isn't part of the weapon(or visible section you want to remove), the skin will fux up. :/

    make this channel all white....
and make black the part that you need to be invisible ^^ 8)

I don't get it...I followed all those steps, created the alpha channel and blackened out the parts I wanted removed, but then I save it, it doesnt save the alpha channel (saving as a 32 bit .tga). That's making it so the skin is still appearing white in-game. What am I doing wrong?

Man, I wish it was that simple for me. However, skin files never have that "transparant" underlayer for me.. always pure white or pure black. Not that white/grey blocky layer that indicates transparancy.
