Hi this is my first texturing attempt,i need advice on skin shading and also an outsiders view opinion.thanks

Then stop using "Brush Size 1".
This sure looks like MS Paint 'cause none of the colors are blended together.
Without blending it looks plain and "depthless", just like pixel painting in MS Paint.

And the skin lacks of Highlights and Shadows; without it, a texture is nothing.

My suggestion to you is to take a look at the Tutorial Section, read and learn. And when that’s done, I strongly suggest you to learn how to draw with Pen and Paper before you start texturing; 'cause when you've mastered Pen and Paper, digital art will be so much easier.
