Map Info:
Two teams of dwarves take turns doing a mortar run - attempting to run across the map while the opposing team fires deadly mortars at them.

Simple, addictive gameplay with a focus on skills such as leading your targets with long-ranged attacks, dodging, and plenty of bluffing.

Features:
  • 5 Mortar types to choose from - each with a different way to destroy your enemies
  • 4 Runner types, ranging from tanks to healers to faster things
  • 4 different maps in game, for different numbers of players
  • Configurable game modes and length

  • Auto team balance

  • Attempted several fixes to the fatal error issue. Since I never get the bug myself, I have no way of knowing if it's been properly fixed.
  • Fixed accuracy score being inaccurate (counted each shot twice)

This looks promising o.o

Edit: Wierd, I keep getting this Error message after every game.
Like, there's 10 rounds, and after the ninth round it suddenly crashes my Warcraft.
It could be my Warcraft's problem tho, who knows?

I've never had that before, but I'll take a look and try similar settings.

Your thoughts on the map?

EDIT: I still haven't been able to reproduce your error, so I'm pretty sure it's your PC.

i got the fatal error at round 2 with runners with 6+ AI
my char was already dead so i don't know what caused this, i wasn't looking


Could you add some infos about the spells plz ? "loading" what is this ?? it regens mana ??
the smoke bomb ?? what does it do ?? (had no time to test)

Otherwise I recommend this map, it's very interesting, original and funny. You won't be bored by the gameplay

I feel the tooltips are informative enough, but I'll see if I can extend them a bit.

Smoke Bomb makes units in the target area invisible, Loading increases the number of rockets fired.

I still haven't been able to replicate that fatal error, could you please tell me exactly what happened before hand? Which heroes were in use, etc?

i can' say i'm sorry and i had no replay for once.
i wasnt paying attention coz my hero was dead.

But i played two more games online and no bug at all. (But you can pass through the bibliothecary)

For the tooltips, i saw no tooltips about Loading for example, so "I feel the tooltips are informative enough" = lol i don't have time to count every rockets ingame so i'd think it's useless. Maybe you wrote tooltips but i didn't see them the first time.

I swear there wasn't any tooltips the first time i played, and the second and 3rd they were there (since i didn't notice any problem)

there was only the name of the spell "Loading"
dunno why

i'm not a liar !!! :p

Really nice and very replayable map, even in single player. ^^
Although, how about instead of giving players minimum time to choose their heroes, you give them maximum time instead? Like, the game starts when everyone is ready. I was too slow reading what everything does and the tank runner was automatically picked for me. :p

Asides from that, map is excellent. Shows that there's no need for a map to be complex to be fun :grin: Definitely rating 5/5.

P.S., you might wanna add [/list] at the end of your testers list in the description here. :p

Ok this map is just AMAZING!!!

But i had the same bug than The Waffle King i had a fatal error.

Without this, this map is very good, a concept i never seen before for me your map need a 5/5!!!

So i've tried many party options and it appears than when i choose ten rounds and only when the round is finished, i've got the fatal error.

I hope that little complement will help you to make your map better!

For crediting that large corpse explosive model, perhaps, you can mention from which map you took it from. Also, I find this map quite similar to dodgeball. Still, the map seems fun, judging from the screenshots. The AI is a plus. Thus, I can even enjoy its multiplayer aspect in single player.

I previously used it in Pimp My Peon, which I made 7 years ago, and didn't bother to put any credits in.

Bugs:

So far I only played with AIs and in 80% games a fatal error appears :/
Usually with more than 4/5 AIs.
Tank's rage doesn't work sometimes usually when lvl 4.It only starts working if i stand in place and take a lot of damage.Suddenly Rage starts working.
Maybe score should be calculated in "% hp remaining" since 5 tanks will always win vs. a hybrid team because of hp...maybe :p
Alchemist's first spell damage info is bugged.I think it shows 90 dmg all the time or so.You should globally improve spell research info (mana/cd).Spell info (what it does) is pretty good :).Some heroes don't have a portrait...tank, scout,...

Some suggestions:

Mortars:
Add a pirate mortar :p.With multiple scatter cannon and stuff (flies, doesn't roll, fires 3-5 in a cone, each cannonball has a small aoe)Bigger cast distance=bigger distance between explosions.And maybe a net to hold enemies?

Add a "Air-force General".Summon kamikaze, bomber run (fires a bomber that will fire mini bombs until it reaches location).passive:bomber fires bombs more rapidly, kamikaze more dmg/speed.

Runners:
Add some kind of ninja?With ww, illusons etc.He could use "wand of illusion" ability to make illu of ally (take 500% dmg).

Add a time traveller.Blink into past(maybe it should be a passive)=restore hp go back where you were 3 sec ago.

Some arcanist with mana shield and some "archanish" spells would be nice.Cat shield on ally blocking next xx dmg.

Overall map is great and fun to play with nice terrain,+it has goddamn AI what I really like (make them cast heals and other spells, not only jump and sprint :p), 5/5.

question:I'm not sure but there are items?I think I saw somewhere it says there are items.I didn't find them lol.Where are they?:p

Thanks for the feedback!

Unfortunately I haven't worked on this map in about half a year, but I am planning a complete rework with a more physics-like projectile system.

Regarding items: previous versions had items, but I removed them because players spent a lot of time looking at items, even when the rounds started. I might re-add it with a different shop system.
