/me has a suggestion.

It's probably just a waste of time for anyone to bother developing, but I think it would be cool if there was a BB tag implemented that would mimic the /me command from the chatroom. That way, people would have to manually add all of the styling tags and such.

This is a perfect example of what I'd be looking for. People tend to enjoy doing this sort of thing.

All it's really doing is coloring the text, so what's the point? If you're looking for the tag to auto add your name before the paramed text, that would take some advanced work.

You may argue that it's cool, but simply because it's cool doesn't make it necessary for all the work involved.

If you're not planning to have it auto insert the user's name, then no, it's not any work at all, but what's the point? All it will really be doing is coloring the text. As you've said, Linaze, it's going to be a spam fest.

The result would only be a lot of [me][/me] tags everywhere, and we don't need that.
we don't want to see this (shit) feature in each and every post.
/me facepalms
/me criest
/me lol'd

etc. You get the point.
it's going to be a spam fest.
*facepalm*

Yeah. What's the point? Maybe we should disable it in the chatroom, too. Maybe we should disable all themes and just have black and white forums. I'm sure everybody will appreciate a totally black and white interface. People love that sort of thing.

Why do you bother with that font in every post?
spam fest.
*groans at the irony*

"It'll cause spam!"
"It looks nice."
...Totally valid arguments against this...

I'd just up and do this if I could. It's not like it's a big change of policy or anything that actually matters. Heck, we've all spent more energy talking about doing it than it would take to actually do it. xD

There's more to it then just "spam fest". You're missing the rest of the points. Why wast the time to make a [me] tag, when you can just use the color tags? What more is it doing that isn't going to be a complete wast of time programming?

I'd like a direct quote and link to where I insisted this in the least bit.

PS. I use this font because it's cool and I can :p

Because it takes barely any time to make, and you get a tag that can be colored by theme.

You didn't, but if "it only colors stuff," is a reason to not do it, then why bother with the /me command in the first place?
I use this font because it's cool and I can :p
Why then would you oppose a [ME] tag?
