Hello, I've returned to world editor to build some stuff. I've been wondering did blizzard increase map file size limit? It was 128 mb back in day. Now, I have questions about the limit:

I'm currently doing custom race + skin altered melee map and I see custom reforged model file sizes are too big if I compare with classic ones. If there is a limit like 256mb, I don't want to build on reforged.

I've checked few websites or forums all these answers belongs to 2021-2022. I'm currently looking for newest information.

The latest WC3 patch can use up to 256 MB of map limit for multiplayer and 2 GB for single player according to some reports. I could be wrong.

I think Blizzard started this overhaul even before Reforged came out, specifically v1.27b (released in December 2016) that extends the map file size limit to 128MB.

Before v1.27b, it is impossible to host beyond 8MB of map in multiplayer without some kind of 3rd party modifications, specifically computer hacking. This was, however, removed when v1.29 came out.

Thank you ^^ I'll probably stick on classic models until they increase the 256 mb limit
