so a very long time ago, i started working on a map and got a bit carried away. I loved adding new models and creating new units around those models. Little did I know that, not only does battle net have a cap on the map sized, so does the lan host. i can probably scale down the size of my map a good bit as I ended up importing a lot of models I didnt end up using, but I don't think I can scale it down enough. My basic question is, is there a way to hack my game files (either my exe or some config files) so that I can host a larger game on a LAN. Really, I don't care about hosting on battlenet, and I don't care if I break my game so that I can only play Lan games. Like i said, I put a lot of work into this map before I realized there was a cap, so it would be a shame to have to dump it. Thanks for your help!

A map with no imports, is literally empty. Never ever do the '20 different bosses with the same model but different RBG' plan. Its always good to use imports, you just need to budget them.

As far as I know, there are not only 20 models in Wc3 :3
RGB coloration just spices your characters up. And a map without imports isn't empty, the one who looks at it expects from it to be full. The one like you. Yes, it's good to use imported stuff, but not to exaggerate with them. Yeah, there are several squishers for those massive importers :)

I forgot, there are 19 models :p I am making an example, and yes, an exaggeration. I don't understand what you mean by 'the one that looks at it'.

Some tips to save space:
Models -
MdlVis has an optimizer, and it can delete unneeded bones
Blps -
Download BLP Lab and use its mass optimizer. Also, most textures should NOT be over 256 x 256, its just a waste of detail.
Music -
Leave them out unless you have lots of spare room.
Triggers -
Try to shrink it as much as possible, and compact it. Better off using JASS.

I am a firm believer of importing Map Previews and Loading Screens, so I think they should be allowed. Most people judge books by their cover.
