I do a lot of StarCraft 2 map reviews over at SC2M, but I'd like to include other sites as well. Here's my original thread: http://forums.sc2mapster.com/player-zone/map-review/7788-central-review-conglomerate/

In this thread, I will take suggestions and link the reviews as I make them. Keep in mind that I will not take every suggestion, and that a review suggestion does not necessarily have to be your map (it can be a map someone else made). For details and info, see the original thread. I can't be arsed to rewrite everything in BBCode (the ones at SC2M are all in WikiCreole and I have master copies in .docx format), so you're stuck with viewing it at SC2M.

I have some mini-reviews (scorecards, basically) contained in the original thread, but the main attraction is the full review...

Full Reviews made so far:
Nexus Wars (Bronze)
Partycraft (Copper)
Haunted Temple (Silver)
Golem Wars Classic (Bronze)
THE Card Game (Bronze)
Level Up Bound (Bronze)
Debates (Silver)

I really enjoyed these. All of the scores were quite fair, and Debates was a fun read by itself.

There are multiple ways to use color and design psychology to make the players read it [the loading screen] more.

Care to go into detail on this? I'm interested.

It's a huge field. Marketing and graphic design pretty much rely on color and design psychology. There's way too much I could say and much, much more that I do not know about. You should probably google it.

Granted, but the specific use of color to promote reading of the text on a loading screen seems like a fairly small field for you to go into detail on. My googling gave me great ways to combine colors on websites depending on the desired effect, but nothing on text. I'd appreciate just two or three sentences describing where to put text, and how to contrast it with the background if possible.

It depends on the subject of the text, the font, the placement, and the background/layout of whatever it is on top of. It's impossible to give some sort of useful general guideline for; however, I could for example look at two alternatives and tell you why one is better than the other.

One thing, though, that is constant, is that you need to make the color and font represent the purpose of whatever you are doing. For example, instructions should generally be yellow on a black background or, better yet, be black on a yellow background because the color yellow promotes memory. This is why older schools had yellow walls and most hi-lighters are yellow.

Just like almost every single warning sign is red or yellow.

Could you please do a Review on my newly released map (Beta) "Specialists". It's on North America sever. It's a sky camera shooter. It features WASD movement, click to shoot, custom interface, and a very well working physics engine. IT supports 10 players (teams of 5) and currently has 1 gameplay mode and 1 arena. The gameplay mode is Search and Destroy, pretty well known since Call of Duty. I'd love a review on it!
