Well I've been making maps since back in the days of WC2, however sadly a great deal of my older creations have been lost over the years.

My newer maps however, especially on WC3 I still have.

You might know me on WC3 west as "Od1n", I've made maps such as:
The Hunted
Thunderstruck
LOAP Zombie Invasion
Run Hobos Run (Based on RKR)
Forsaken Wars
Vamps w/ Sheep
As well as a few others...

You won't find them on hiveworkshop.com, I always release them directly on battle.net. Mostly because it gives me instant feedback on bugs, balance, and playability.

I specialize in JASS coding, and it's my passion to create things in the most efferent and polished manner possible. You will notice this in some of my newer maps such as The Hunted, or Thunderstruck. I write very efficient code, and enjoy trying to solve problems in unique ways.

I hope that answers your question.

I'm quite the same with coding, and we seem to have some kind of similar map tastes.

I myself am working on a Preschool Showdown. It has a special resource system with Mass and Energy that's very similar to Total Annihilation's or Supreme Commander's. You grow in tech by building energy storages which allow you to have a higher max energy (lumber). You also can make mass storages, but you don't have to make as many of them. You start with 1000 max mass and energy. Eventually some units cost 20,000 energy, so you need to make some advanced energy storages.

I have 3 tiers of units varying from sheep bombers, dragon bombers, clockwerk goblincs, and charbelchers (siege engines). There is also about 24 structures available. Well actually I don't have everything done yet, but I have a ton of ideas and stuff planned.

If you want to play it, just PM me. I also play on US West as SquishyBrains.

Thanks for your interest DocDude!

Do to the fact that SC2 is still a ways away (at least 6 months or so), and the online market place is even further off than that.... You do have time to improve your skills, and that's why attitude is very important.

Another thing that's very important is commitment and time... do you have enough time to devote to improving your skills and working on team projects?

Lastly, there are many coders out there, so honestly I'm looking more for modelers, animators, and texturers right now. The good news however is that the programs required to do these things can often be obtained for free... so perhaps you can learn how to do them.

So my advise is go learn how to model, animate, or texture and then send me a PM and I'd be happy to take a look at what you've made! =) Thanks again.

Yes! Ricardo Irving is passionate about map making! He makes uber ambitious maps which become vaporware, are usually barely playable, but they are uber impressive! But...grumble 1.14 makes me come up with thousands of compile errors...

I'm in.

Great, could you please PM me some info about yourself? What do you do? What are you skilled in? Right now we have a bunch of programmers so skills in Photoshop, 3d Modeling applications, sound, animations, and art are needed the most. If you don't know any of these things then it's ok, there is plenty of time to learn them before SC2, and we'll still be here.

Hope this helps... Explains all the stuff I've done. If you'd like to meet in WC3 and play some of these maps then that's fine with me.

Sounds interesting :p, I model maker and animator, but I have quite a lot problems with wc3 -.-' . So we hope to continue project on SC2 also. We're trying to improve graphic in wc3 with our mod putting new original idea inside that has nothing to do with wc3. So I hope this will work better in SC2 :p .

BTW guyz check SC2 ME preview:
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/blizzcon-09-starcraft-ii/54901

BTW any map maker here with really great passion and originality ? :D

Only problem here is that we dont know anything about sc2 modding. Formats, for models example. And other things...

Hi, bboy! Thanks for responding. I'd be interested in talking to you more, perhaps we can play each other's games and talk about the project. Just PM me some contact info please.

Also in response to your question, it's ok that you don't know anything about SC2 modeling, the idea is to just get the ball rolling now. We can do modeling now and begin working out the feel of the game long before SC2 actually comes out. Then we basically just port whatever we did to SC2 when it's ready.

It takes a loooong time to make a really really good map, and so getting started now I believe is important. As far as other members of the team and originality... yes, we have some very skilled map makers already on board. Also I'm really excited about the game we're planing to make, and think people are going to absolutely love it.
