Map file can't be opened

For some reason I can't open my map file. I didn't save any earlier versions that were too recent(I have some but I did a lot of work and I'd hate to redo it). The game created a temp folder and I'm not sure what that means but the map may have a bad file. Is there any way to open a map that can't be opened and remove a bad file or something? The message I get when trying to open it is simple that the map can't be opened. No details or anything. HELP!!

I probably should mention that the map works fine when played in the game.

Use the War3 Model Editor, install it, locate your map file, right click on it and click "Open with War3 Model Editor", then export all the data you need from the broken map and import it in the older version of the map.

It's trigger data man. Not file data. I can't export triggers I don't think. I think there's a bad file I downloaded that I have to delete.

the war3map.wtg file contains your trigger data, export it from the broken file and import it into the old version, it will replace the old triggers with the triggers from the broken map.

How do I get the data out of the maps? I'm using war3 model editor v1.07. Is this the right one? I'm importing from my map. How do I get the data?

When you open it with the model editor, right click on a file (for example, right click on "war3map.wtg") and click "Export", save it anywhere on your PC then open the map where you want to upload it and "Import" it.

I've recently learned that the map file is corrupt and I have no idea why. I can't load it into WE unlimited and I'm not sure if I can load into model editor. I don't know why it is corrupted. Possibly the sound file I added. I may be able to take the file out with an mpq editor although I'm not sure how. If anyone has any information please tell me.

WEU -corrupts- your map, its not your map, it's WEU. thats why you should use JNGP

Or he once protected it and forgot he did that.
But yeh, WEU sucks, stay with the original or use JNGP.

(I personally use the official one as JNGP has so much options it makes my head hurt.)
