The Map Development forum is reserved for users to post threads about their upcoming maps. If you have a project you are working on and wish to share with the rest of the community, you may do so. But by doing so, you agree to all rules listed below.

These guidelines were written aiming for the better functioning of not only the Map Development forum but also their child-forums, where they also apply (unless otherwise stated).

Sub/Child forums
  • If your map/project doesn't have any content to show yet, e.g. all you have is ideas about the gameplay and a story, please post in the Idea Factory forum.
  • Want to recruit people for your project? Use the Project Recruitment forum.
  • Is your map a cinematic and not a playable map? Please post in the Cinematics forum.

Rules and Guidelines specific to the Map Development forum
  • All the content of your message must respect the Site Rules.
  • Any message irrelevant, non-constructive and/or noncontributory to the thread can be deleted at any time. This includes "When is it done?" messages. It's done when it's done, and if it doesn't say in the first post, it's likely that the developer aren't sure either.
  • You may only post threads concerning your map. Topics regarding someone else's project are not accepted and will be soft-deleted without warning.
    • When editing somebody else's map, you need to show permission from the original author. This does not apply to open source maps (maps that are not protected).
  • 100% completed Maps should be uploaded in the Hive's Map Resource Section and must, as stated before, agree with the Map Submission Rules.
  • The Map Development is a critic environment. Most of the time, criticism is meant to help you. Don't lose your head over negative critcism, you'll live longer.
    • If you feel like negative criticism is out of line and is in violation of the site rules, please report the post(s) instead of flaming back.
These newly posted Map Development Rules have immediate effects. If you do not agree with them, please do not post on the Map Development forum.

Thank you.
