Help needed :>

Game crashes at Elune's Tomb and consistently at the Orange Player camp (west part of the map). Spread of Corruption Mission, Good Path.

Kindly let me know what I could try. Latest Version of W3. Mac.

I managed to go through the tomb crash but satyrs in the west (across the bridge) consistently catapult me out of the game with a freeze + crash.

15th load. Sadly "win mission cheatcode" doesn't work, so i guess I'm stuck there.

25th load, okay, that's sad.

A wonderful combination of incompatibility, you might need to get yourself a windows operating system for War3, it would save you much headache.
Warcraft 3 Reforged is supposed to be compatible with windows 7/10 and 11 alongside Linux and MAC but in practice the development team show they care little for anything other than the latest windows machine.

If you want to get something cheap together i suggest getting an old second hand laptop with windows 10 and download the portable version of Warcraft 3 patch 1.31.1 from the Hive Archives under Game Files tab.

If you aim for a slightly more powerful second hand laptop you can run Reforged on it, preferably one with a laptop mobile 1060 or above GPU. It will still not be optimal as RF itself is resource heavy but it should be more than enough for classic graphics.

Technically, you can even hunt for a mini PC instead which would allow you to focus your budget on the specs without losing money on buying a display, and then just use your Macs display instead, assuming your Mac is a laptop and not itself a mini PC.

Thank you, that said I wonder if Windows emulation would help (Whisky).

So far finished all of the custom campaigns, Mac seems to work fine. Includin Evil Path for Malfurion.

When are chapters 10 and 11 coming out for the good side? When 2.0?
Mr. Turnro just did a great job with 1.5 update and now it's a vacation time (remember whole campaign was worked on for more than 7 years).
_

MANAGED TO PUSH THROUGH THE BUG \m/

I'm stubborn and happy. Here's what I tried:

1. Switched graphics from Reforged to Classic. It didn't change the visuals and I skill got booted out of the game in 1 min after I start fighting the orange camp.
2. I suspected game crashes because I pick up the cloack item that satyr hero drops.
3. I suspected game crushes cuz I kill that hero.

After doing some loads I killed Satyr hero much later. Then I waited another minute fighting the orange camp. And then picked up cloack item with Murion's pouch.

Aaaaand it let me through. So I suspect something is wrong with that enemy hero or the item he drops.

Hello, Turnro. Have you thought about using this Alexstrasza model in new versions?

Just finished 1.5 Good path.

Easily one of the best things I played in my life, I wish we had more campaigns like this. Can't wait to play the whole thing but will be sad when it ends.

What's good:

1. Writing.

---- SPOILERS HERE ----

  • Dialogues are mostly good.
  • Story has stakes. Loosing Cenarious was unexpected and heartbreaking in a way - all this effort, we almost saved him. I genuenly was upset. But that shows that we actually can lose. The not so good part is that it almost didn't affect the characters, they were like "meh just another monday, sh#t happens".
  • Same thing with losing to Jarraxxus, I didn't expect that & it was super good. Also them having their own agenda is nice.
  • Dreadlords subplot is very interesting.

2 misses I felt with writings:

  • It's a bit of a mess with who is behind Furion's corruption. Eredon or Exiled One. I suppose Eredon but then it's linked to the Exiled through the fountains... kinda what is going on send narrative help brigade. I initially though it was Xavious and I think it makes for a much better writing. Eredon should be dead because of the orcs ¯\(ツ)/¯ but that's not up to me.
  • Characters not much affected by the loss of Cenarious.
Upd: when Furion has his next "mental moment" and everyone around is like "Furion, are you okay" for 10th time - it kinda makes me laugh :D

2. Gameplay.

  • I find it funny that druid Malfurion is stronger than Sorcerer Malfurion. At least I felt so, maybe that's cuz he's a great support and I find his abilities much more useful. Upd: to be fair, I replay evil path now, and Furion completely melts faces with dmg, probably golem & fire shield just feel meh.
  • Custom music is veeeeeeeery nice.
  • Missions are perfect, 12/10.
  • When you go to Northerend, that was a surprise, and all that comes next was Very good.
  • No bullsh#t and also great balancing.
  • Legendaries and artifacts, love it. Was a bit upset to get +5 def +500 hp ones cuz heroes almost never need these.

1 miss for me:

- Nightmare mission. Tho visually stunning, was kinda tedious and not interesting to play through.

3. Bugs (Mac)

  • Got that big game crushing thing with Spread of corruption at the Temple of Elune + the Orange base. Somehow found a way, took me 50 loads.
  • Scroll of town portal is not working in the last mission (where you defend Illidan's citadel)
  • Not a bug, but the game could be slightly broken by summoning owls through the closed gates (in evil path that doesn't work with golem)
  • Last W3 patch broke characters portraits for many custom campaigns but that's okay, well known thing.

4. Asks

@Turnro please consider AI voice over if possible. I recently played some great campaigns with AI VO and it is veeeeeeeery good addition (I played Exodus).

Overall enjoyed the good path more than the evil. Probably because evil Malfurion started to irritate me pretty quickly and I also didn't like his abilities that much. His dialogues are long and mostly "f you, now die". Plus I didn't enjoy the later mission's bosses.

Also, on evil path, Assault on Astranaar mission, there's a challenge in defeating north-east green enemy. But there's another such enemy in the west-most part of the map. His buildings are invaulnerable, would be nice to be able to have them as another optional challenge. First one drops legendary shield.

5. Conclusion

I probably should've waited for 2.0

Idk one of the greatest custom campaigns ever created. Wish I had that productivity with my art, which is music production.

Upd: oh no, started replaying the evil path. Btw SPOILERS next.

Blowing the portal in this campaign was freaking incredible :D same for decimating Lordaeron in the previous Undead campaign.
