Making a sound 3D

I downloaded a .wav file that I would like to play every time a unit casts an ability. When I upload it, however, the 3D box is uncheckable. The sound will play if I use the Play Sound action but I cannot attach it to a point or unit. How should I go about fixing this?

I'm sorry, I dont' know what this means. I tried editing the sound file in the sound editor, but I can't click on the box for "3D sound". It's grayed out. Is that what you meant?
