A: Lore & Legends is a rebranding for all existing and future Warcraft 3 projects created by OutsiderXE. It implies all of these projects share the same detailed continuity.

What a journey it's been. The original Lord of the Clans started development in 2002, when the original Warcraft 3 was released. Never in my life did I imagine that I would still be working on this campaign over 20 years later. After so many updates we get to play it with voice acting and in glorious HD. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoy making it. Thank you, and onto the next 20 years of Warcraft!

Quite a precious and artful campaign which could use some balancing here and there especially in VS and boss fights to make things more challenging and fun (oh shoot; I guess it has something to do with the default difficulty being Story which I guess...

Played it recently for a walkthrough on my humble channel. And what can I say:
  • Most boss fights seem to be arcade-like, so their damage except for auto-attack is dodgeable. I don't see this as a good example as a WoW player myself, cause not everything should be avoidable - I wanted to see some more phases for Blackmoore's final battle where Thrall is properly tested to use all he learned through a campaign. Maybe it was on Hard Difficulty, not normal. But I don't think so.
  • Story: I like how you follow the original book inch by inch. And Warcraft 3 Reforged graphics make this look astonishing. I liked those inner building locations, they felt cozy.
  • Voice lines: Sometimes phrases felt abrupting too soon, and sometimes AI Voicelining "roboticism" felt too uncanny.
  • Gameplay: I barely forgot that Thrall's abilities can be upgraded, lol. I think that creating some extra button near Thrall's portrait would be cool. Or have a special item reserved for that, I don't mind having 5 slots instead of 6.
Please don't think that this list features minuses, hell no. It's my humble opinion and as a casual player myself. Overall campaign is very cool and I hope that "Last Guardian Reforged" will be similar or even cooler.
Recommend this campaign to all players, dearly!

Well... For example, the current WoW bossfights use multiple stages of the battle, where the boss changes the scenery, and skills or has help from his ads aka minions. In classic WoW most bosses have mostly abilities, that stack some debuff or deal high unavoidable damage thus forcing you to use cooldowns of your defensive spells properly, manage them through raids, and even worse - collect some specific resistance.
Modern WoW denies using magic resistance in the current design, instead focusing on void zones - avoidable damage - forcing raid to be proactive. Yet still you receive periodic unavoidable damage, need to soak something, etc...

This meme video shows differents of bossfight designs:


In the "Lord of Clan HD" campaign, most of the bosses have avoidable damage in my opinion. So Thrall has enough time to run out and don't take it. Especially when you learn fire elementals, you can use them as tanks, and in theory Blackmoore (for example) won't hit you. I don't advocate @OutsiderXE to change the Blackmoore fight into a 3-staged battle with dozens of SFX splashing on screen, yet I think that it would be better that Blackmoore stacked or used some non-avoidable spells.
Anyway, the current campaign design appeals to a bigger audience and forces you to be active, which is good.

Wow player myself. So I know the what you talking about.
I party agree with You, Blackmore fight could been better and a bit more about the mixed hate and proudness feeling Blackmore had and in one way "thankful" side of feeling from Thrall.

But again, it's Wc3 not wow.
And yet, reasenlty playe your Swarm and Darrow maps. Really nice stuff and a nice mix of wc3/wow

The 1.1 update was only really made because of the additional localizations by other people; and the rest of the update was made in the spirit of "well, let's try it." I'm trying to limit the amount of updates on existing projects, so I can focus on new stuff. The next project will be something new, DotD HD and TLG HD will come later.

Which one??? I think Google Drive has so many working older versions for the legacy versions (pre-1.32).

Yes.
Download the game from the Battle.net.
Small correction: You'll get the very latest patch of the game, which is 1.36.2, NOT 1.32.
Purchasing Reforged is NOT necessary. Simply use your legit Reign of Chaos key attached to your account.

If you want to stick with 1.31, use older versions like v2.2.0, but I personally don't recommend it.

There appears to be a crash right at the end of Chapter 6, Path of the Shaman. It happens right at the end of the cutscene, as Doomhammer announces his name, but also occurs if you skip the cutscene. Not surprised if it turns out it's caused by Reforged 2.0. However, the next mission does correctly unlock, and appropriate data carry forward as it should.

There also appears to be a unit or two with a broken portrait; the Spearthrower among them.

People have reported this kind of crash issues relating to the corrupted models when playing the custom campaign. That was even happened long before 2.0. came out.

Which campaign mode are you currently playing on? I think sticking to SD version will solve this problem. HD version is quite buggy due to the new Classic+ addon being introduced with this patch.

It was HD, yeah. I tried it twice without skipping the cutscene and once while skipping the cutscene, all three crashed. It was the only crash I've had with this campaign though, at least in this playthrough, and I was able to progress on to the next level without losing any data for Thrall, so I was able to just sort of ignore it and move on.
 
On Mac version 2.0.0.22389 the game crashes during the cast scene of the 1st chapter. Should I wait for which update?

I think you didn't meant to complain in a bad way.
Still, he made a hugh good job and 2.0 just ruin a lot of things. It might be on the list "things I want to fix" but I bet he will feel less and less will to do so when ppl write "negativt" things. Not his fault.

There are no negative messages. I just asked. It's just that on Total War Warhammer, from time to time, something needs to be done and everything works, I thought maybe it's the same here. =3

an extraordinary job full of passion and creativity. I liked the fact that the missions are structured differently.
The only criticism is that it is very unstable and crashes frequently.

The "frequent crash" issue, in question, is usually happened if you do a lot of "save/load" things on custom maps and campaigns (not just this campaign).

This is a Blizzard issue that's still present in the previous Reforged patches. The problem still persists on 2.0. Blizzard won't probably fix that issue soon.

thanks for the information the thing is that since there is no checkpoint system in this campaign and some missions are very long so I save often;
But crashes also occur to me when Thrall dies

Does the HD version have more content than the SD version?
The initial release of the HD version is basically same as latest version of the original one (SD mode 3.1.0), but it can only be playable on Reforged graphics.
Also, HD version has a special localizations for non-English one. You can check out in the "Changelog" section of the map description.

Playing the new updates, but when I do the Fishing Side Quest, I'm only given 3 charges and, once used up, I can't use the fishing pole anymore (and 3 isn't enough to fiinish it anyway)

I haven't played that custom campaign just yet, but I can tell you there were numerous bugs you might encounter with 2.0.0/2.0.1 patches.
Hopefully, the author will probably fix those campaign-related bugs in the future.

Still well-made as ever, but tbh I don't enjoy the whole "avoid the red circle" gameplay. Only 3 missions in and I am already sick of it. Should just save it for special bosses. The skill tree and crafting were already enough for a fun experience.

Very well made campaign. I remember playing the original custom campaign before Reforged, and this is even more thoroughly well-made. The level of detail and the cutscenes are fantastic. Superb adaptation of the book.

However, one thing that's killing my interest in continuing playing is the lack of an autosave feature. I'm finding this campaign quite difficult even on Story difficulty. Thrall keeps dying, and I've only gotten to Chapter 5. And unless I remember to keep manually saving, I'm pretty much having to restart the entire level. Maybe I just got too comfortable playing the Chronicles of the Second War custom campaign which autosaves constantly and is much easier, but it's a shame that such a difficult campaign doesn't have autosave.

Auto-save was disabled because it kept crashing the campaign :(
