Why last man? You should make more, you re good at it.
I don't really enjoy it as much anymore, and it takes too much time I should probably be spending on other things :p I just want to finish my WC1 map, I'm almost there now :D

Are you finished all WC1 model content or are you considering to make them later? I see you are making WC2 models (which we are lack of resources about WC2, except the author @Red XIII's WC2 building models although some building models are still lacking). I understand modeling is so much work but you can break for a while when you tired of modeling. Good luck.

Thanks =) Yeah I think I'm done with the WC1 stuff, I had a quick look at the water elemental but I don't see how I could do it ^^

Ok I think the Town Hall mesh is done. Whaddaya think?

Now to fix up the animations, and then on to the Keep ^^

edit: hmmm maybe I should add doors under the awnings. looks a bit weird to just have stone there xD
edit2: added some doors :p

I tried to create a Water Elemental (WC1) model back in the day, but it didn't quite turn out the way I wanted. I'm sharing the model I created with you to give you an idea.

Hmm maybe I'll try something when I'm finished with the WC2 Town Hall ^^

In other news, model got "damaged" :( luckily I can still open it and export geosets, so it's not a total loss.

Ok, uhm, the crenelations here look pretty bad right? Or is it ok? Feedback appreciated xD

For context: I wanted to make the crenelations actually 3D, but because the towers have an uneven amount of vertices this doesn't really work unless I remake the towers from scratch, which I want to avoid xD Texture-wise there doesn't seem to be a good solution to show the crenelations in the towers in a way that doesn't look bad.

They're inexistent, right? Those black/dark ones are just textures?
Yeah, it's just textures. I edited my previous post with some more info, i'm afraid if I want it to look the way I want it's gonna be A LOT of extra work xD

Can't those parts simply be deleted?
Mm not really ^^

Edit: well I'm doing it like this, a lot of work still but it's gonna look good I think.
Edit2: finished it, I just hope I can copy it to the other towers and I don't have to do it 3 more times xD
Edit3: ok that looks pretty good I think :p
Edit4: yay, I was able to copy it to the other big tower, just had to rotate it a bit. Not sure if it will be possible with the front towers because they're smaller and I might not be able to scale it exactly.
Edit5: ok fuck it, it's not exact but the difference is small enough :p
Final edit: ok that'd a decent start.
Actually final edit: reskinned the crenelations, I think this looks better.

Starting on the walls ^^

Edit: going nicely. I'm not sure whether I should add the front two small towers with TC. I think it's going to make it too big, but without it maybe it's not true enough to the original.

IMO the gray in the second as the same whitish one simply visually clutters on your view especially from a higher perspective camera.
Hmm yeah you're right. I've found another texture for both keep and castle, I think this is better now. So aside from fixing the castle animations I think it's finished :D

edit: I'm also making the black outlines of the crenelations less pronounced, though still there.

Hmmm... some of the textures are REALLY dark ingame, especially TC in town hall and keep. Guess I'll have to check all the two-sided stuff, make sure the normals are facing the right way, and hope that's what's causing it xD

edit: ok that was indeed the problem. Weirdly I've never noticed this before, though I'm 100% sure I've had two-sided materials in other models with not all the normals facing the right way.

For the fire elemental you could use the golems and infernal models but fuse their parts and add a water elemental like animated texture over them. With the Water Elemental you could do a similar thing but make it more feminine.
And/or you could go from where @Kotol started and use model parts (from the game or custom ones on HIVE) and add such a texture over the whole fused model.

Yeah, my original plan was to import some geosets from infernal and sorceress or something intothe elementals (hence the ones I uploaded), but now I'm thinking of doing it the other way around and basically reskinning the infernal/sorceress into fire/water and adjusting the meshes and animations as necessary. Golem might be a good idea too. I'm not sure if the result would be any good though, might be a huge waste of time xD

I shared the model I created as an example but there are some visual flaws in the model. Also, the Sorceress model's hair doesn't match the WC1 Water Elemental model. If you can find another model with floating hair and animation, use that model. As far as I know, the Banshee model is a better model for hair, but when I used it, I encountered some texture issues. You can also check the Dawn of Chaos (DoC) mod for Water Elemental but it is a reskin of Banshee model.

This is what I have so far. Any suggestions?

I think you should use the Banshee model for the hair, the Sorceress model for the chest, and the vanilla Water Elemental model for the base model. Maybe you could also use the slime model for the feet.

That seems way too difficult lol, at least in terms of animation.

xD I'm out of ideas though. There's gotta be a way to edit the banshee model to look more like a water elemental and less like a banshee, without splicing a bunch of different models together. The WC1 sprite doesn't give you much to work with either.

Here is the Remastered one
