Life of a Dragon Sequel v2.4 is the successor and sequel to the original 'Life of a Dragon' map. It is a Multiplayer RP Map focused on living your life as a Dragon in a vast, dangerous fantasy world of Kayla. Not only can you live your life as a dragon, but you can also live out other lives revolving around the presence of dragons in the world. Dragon Slayer... Dragon Knight... Kayla Kingdom... Lakor Empire... There is no end to this ever-updating map on what new feature will arrive to further develop this world of Dragons.

Many years prior, Life of a Dragon Sequel had been abandoned by me. This version 1.1 was riddled in bugs, glitches, exploits, and other nasty messes. But despite all that, many fans gathered together to keep the map alive in the roleplay community on Battle.net. Inspired by the community, I had returned and given Life of a Dragon Sequel a much-needed rehash of all its code and content, thus began version 2.0... And it continues to this day.

I've have given Life of a Dragon Sequel an upgrade likened to an Expansion Pack. Including numerous Changes, Additions, Tweaks, Alterations, Balances, Fixes, Content, and much, much more!

Life of a Dragon Sequel features many different heroes, stories, and roleplaying possibilities. It is best played with friends or online, but can be played in a singleplayer atmosphere. Each different slot represents a different playstyle in the game. Not only that, but some slots can switch their playstyles entirely with special secrets that change their characters.

  • Dragons: The Chosen Dragons (Dragon Players) are unique heroes with the potential to outrival any regular dragon. They start as non-elemental hatchlings and can grow at certain level intervals into higher stages. At a certain stage, they can seek out and become a different colored dragon, each color having its own unique abilities and differing playstyles. However, as a Dragon, you will meet certain demise if you are killed, as you only have 1 free resurrection before facing death... Forever.
  • Dragon Slayer: Your atypical hero, don't let the name fool you, the Dragon Slayer is more of a monster hunter than anything else. You are a powerful human hero, male or female, that can upgrade your unique equipment and have the potential to destroy powerful beasts that threaten the world.
  • Dragon Catcher: A hero unique to Kayla, the Dragon Catcher, male or female, has the capabilities to capture Dragon Players and place them into an enchanted cage. As like the Dragon Slayer, you can become powerful and upgrade your equipment.
  • Kayla Kingdom: You are the Kayla Kingdom, a vast human nation that controls much of the land. With the recent peace treaty having expired, what occurs in the land, whether for good or evil, is woefully up to your decision. Your character, Prince of Princess, has their own unique abilities to help you fight off dangerous creatures... Or perhaps... Dragons.
  • Lakor Empire: A recent addition from another world, the Lakor Empire is a group of strange, red-skinned orcs that seek shelter after their homeworld was destroyed. The fate of Kayla rests in your choices on whether you will seek peace or war, neutrality or genocide. The Lakor Empire is a small, scattered bases with limited resources by powerful warriors.
  • Mercenary: Unlike any other character, the Mercenary has the differing options of multiple races and heroes, or villains, of many genders. Each having their own abilities. However, once a character dies, they cannot be ressurected. You will be brought back to the choice selection to choose a new hero to begin anew, but don't worry, all levels transfer between heroes if they do die.

    [​IMG] Gameplay
    The first area made me lose my interest pretty quickly. At first I thought it was just some kind of decorative area that you were supposed to run through. Then I got to the barrier telling me I needed to belevl 5 in order to continue. I Then realized I had to kill the creeps I've been running past. With only one ability (except for blink or a passive), the first fight was very uninteresting. Wait 15 seconds to kill one creep and then repeat until you eventually reach level 5, which would require something like 30 creeps. Very slow. Also, the enemies deal moderate dmaage and you have no healing, so you simply can't get to level 5 without waiting extreme amounts of time for regeneration.

    Perhaps you are meant to be more players and cooperate in order to level up, but the issue still remains, that it is still a very slow process.

    Without any hints on what to do, I had to find it myself in the quest log that I needed to choose an element. It didn't say where or how though, so I ended up not knowing what to do.

    Your description isn't very well executed. It has visual elements, but the text is just lumped together and irritating to read. Try splitting it up inn more sections in order to make it more attractive. The provided screenshots are great, and really made me want to see those places myself! I would remove the world editor border around it all though.

    Epic loading screen picture with a short and exciting story. Also good that you state where to find more information about the game.

    The story elements is pretty good. I liked the idea of Marion, the dragon knight.

    The terrain in the first cave was very dissapointing. There is no such low quality terrain enywhere else, so I don't understand, why put it in the starting area? This is the place where you want to hok the player into the magical feeling with beatiful visuals. Your other areas look so much better, but this was not at all good.

    The terrain in general is good for being such a huge map. usually, due the map size, the doodads must be used wisely, which you have done in most places. Some places are left completely blank with only blight as decoration. Very varying terrain quaality I must say. There are defintely areas you can improve here.

    In most cases, the cities look awesome, the other areas, mediocre, and the caves not very good at all.

    Marion the dragon knight told her message twice, once with her name in gold in front of it, once without.
    The fel orc just outside the first cave doesn't work or does not give a reson to why you can't speak to him even though he has an exclamation mark over his head.

    You need to improve clarity, some terrain, and gameplay. Just hacking an enemy for a long time early in the game with one combat spell was not very fun.

    [​IMG] Gameplay
    The first area made me lose my interest pretty quickly. At first I thought it was just some kind of decorative area that you were supposed to run through. Then I got to the barrier telling me I needed to belevl 5 in order to continue. I Then realized I had to kill the creeps I've been running past. With only one ability (except for blink or a passive), the first fight was very uninteresting. Wait 15 seconds to kill one creep and then repeat until you eventually reach level 5, which would require something like 30 creeps. Very slow. Also, the enemies deal moderate dmaage and you have no healing, so you simply can't get to level 5 without waiting extreme amounts of time for regeneration.

    Perhaps you are meant to be more players and cooperate in order to level up, but the issue still remains, that it is still a very slow process.

    Without any hints on what to do, I had to find it myself in the quest log that I needed to choose an element. It didn't say where or how though, so I ended up not knowing what to do.

    Your description isn't very well executed. It has visual elements, but the text is just lumped together and irritating to read. Try splitting it up inn more sections in order to make it more attractive. The provided screenshots are great, and really made me want to see those places myself! I would remove the world editor border around it all though.

    Epic loading screen picture with a short and exciting story. Also good that you state where to find more information about the game.

    The story elements is pretty good. I liked the idea of Marion, the dragon knight.

    The terrain in the first cave was very dissapointing. There is no such low quality terrain enywhere else, so I don't understand, why put it in the starting area? This is the place where you want to hok the player into the magical feeling with beatiful visuals. Your other areas look so much better, but this was not at all good.

    The terrain in general is good for being such a huge map. usually, due the map size, the doodads must be used wisely, which you have done in most places. Some places are left completely blank with only blight as decoration. Very varying terrain quaality I must say. There are defintely areas you can improve here.

    In most cases, the cities look awesome, the other areas, mediocre, and the caves not very good at all.

    Marion the dragon knight told her message twice, once with her name in gold in front of it, once without.
    The fel orc just outside the first cave doesn't work or does not give a reson to why you can't speak to him even though he has an exclamation mark over his head.

    You need to improve clarity, some terrain, and gameplay. Just hacking an enemy for a long time early in the game with one combat spell was not very fun.

    Thank you for the review, yes I've realized for a while that this map's primary entertainment lies in his Roleplaying Capabilities. But it seems you were rather clueless on what to do. You based the entire gameplay review on only 1 playthrough, which was lackluster. You only played as a Dragon and ignored all other slots such as Slayer, Catcher, Mercenary, Kingdom, and Fel Empire.

    You didn't realize that there was a quick healing building 'Healing Hay' within the starting area. Which would regenerate your health and mana quickly. Though I will admit, Dragons are meant to be played with other players in mind within the starting area. This is a Multiplayer Game, so it's not intended to be played only Single Player.

    There was a command stated in-game text after you left the Cave on a simple 'Locations' command of all Dragon Elements/Colors to choose from. Though to be fair, most of the gameplay is based on other Players being there.

    I would recommend playing it in Multiplayer first before giving a Gameplay Review.

    Thank you for the compliments in Aesthetics! I've tried very hard on them and they are improving ever more in v2.2. I will take your advice on the Starting Dragon location, I see that compared to many of the other environments that it hasn't had a good update like they had in 2.0.

    The version v2.2 will feature many new gameplay mechanics and Story improvements. I'm 40% done with the version in total, but v2.2 will make it more interesting for a Single Player playthrough. Including different Story Routes that affect the game.

    Last but not least, thanks for the bug notices. I'm fully aware of the Fel Orc one and it's already been fixed in v2.2.

    Alas, most of your gameplay review was center entirely on the Starting Zone, which in full honestly, not a very helpful one.

    Just playing the map Solo that requires Multiplayer fun, and just playing ONE match as ONE team is not a full reveiw, Play the other teams 1 match is not enough, I expect 12 matches.. 12+ to be honest, so get your Roleplaying friends not the save load ones.. the True hard core DND friends to play..

    As for CAAentertainment, Love the map, its hosted all the time on battle net, your community loves it ^^ keep up the good work, I played Merc and i love the Multiple choice for that one. :thumbs_up:

    Just because it features dragons is why you Down voted/1 star it. Play the game With friends before you say Bad things because you cant 1 player it.. Sorry but not a fan of you people that want to Solo everything XD

    There's way much more variety in that game and there the people or AI doesn't just wait in a forest to be dragged and killed.
    I've played it with a friend. Why are you so confident you know things about people? I suggest working on your behaviour. I did not write anything about dragons and did not rate it 1 point but 2. I also did not write bad things. It's my opinion. I've played far better maps.

    Hello !
    I played the map alone as a dragon ( then with some friends to be sure of what I found ) and I noticed a small bug ( i hope it is a bug and I'm not bugging you with something that is not a bug xD ). When in the starting area if you level your dragon at over level 7 and then the guardian of the cave kills you. You will be respawned outside the cave ( at a place with green dragons).
    I think it should be normal to respawn in the cave until you "kill" the guardian.
    If it's a bug , I am happy to help. It is a great map. If it is not , then I'm sorry for wasting your time.

    Did the same thing... Easy way out. Then just make your way to southern most point of map, next to Bronze Dragons. There is a "shop to by a new reincarnation " I don't think it's a bug, just another way around the quest. You can always just blink back into cave to kill guardian.

    Yeah. But the thing is...it bypasses the story part of the map. You have to beat the Guardian to proceed into the story I think.

    Not really, you could just go around killing creeps and level up, then blink back into cave and kill.guardian. Then proceed with story line.
