I played around for a little while. The foundation is there, the design is cool, but I came across some obvious issues. It would seem that if you repeatedly talk to the gym leader, he will infinitely spawn copies of his monster to destroy you D: Also, I would strongly recommend doing something with music--get rid of the default War3 music that plays immediately when the game starts. I had some trouble leaving the professors house, perhaps some sort of marker for the inside exits of buildings would be helpful. Furthermore, this type of game would benefit greatly from some custom camera work in my humble opinion--nothing too fancy, just some perspective that's different from default war3 cameras.

All in all, I like your project and I'm happy to have kept an eye on this. I really hope you keep momentum and see it through to its greatest potential. Good work!
