My connection is 2mbps, never has starcraft 2 lagged before, expect when others use this crappy connection as well.

Today I took 2 games of Starcraft 2. It lagged like hell. I won those games, but my experience was horrible because of the lag. I took a speed test, my connection was 2/1, and the up connection actually was better than before.

Do you experience this kind of issues on europe server?

I noticed you only mentioned your connection speeds. There are many factors that cause lag in games.

- Were those laggy games on the same day? Perhaps Blizzard had trouble on their servers or was performing some kind of large maintenance. Give it a day and see if it goes away.

- Somebody on your network could have been taking bandwidth off you by downloading, seeding, hosting servers, etc. Make sure nobody is downloading. Somebody could be leeching off your network if you haven't secured your network (set up a password).

- Are you getting okay fps? Press "Ctrl + Alt + F" to get Starcraft 2 to display the FPS of the game. If your FPS is low, it is not related to any network/internet error. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. If running a laptop, make sure your graphics card is running the game (sometimes the graphics card doesn't switch on properly when playing a game). You could also try reducing graphic settings within game options.

My opponents weren't lagging, instead they told me I was. On the second game I unplugged other cables, switched off WI fi and lowered my firewall aggressivity. It didn't help.

I'll play a couple of games today once I get to computer to test for lag.

If you are using ADSL or such services then it could be caused by other people who live nearby feeding noise into the telephone network or even overloading the telephone exchange (they oversell bandwidth).

That must've been it. I took a game today and it didn't lag. Thanks for advice!
