ok so uh, this is what happened.

We had a new internet connection, we switched because the internet connection we have before is laggy.. after they set up the internet connection (take note it's a wireless connection.. wi-fi) it works, the internet is very fast and not laggy.. everything is fine until my PC over heated (meh, this is another issue lol) I left turned off for awhile then after some couple of hours I turned it on again.. it says the I'm connected

dlink
Internet access

Wireless Network Connection
dlink conected [][][][][] (signal bars)

I logged in in YM and it works fine, still no lag..

But when I opened web browser, and tried to use the internet, it's not working..

tried..
www.yahoo.com
www.youtube.com
www.google.com
www.hiveworkshop.com
www.facebook.com
etc.. not of them work it says..

Server not found..

Firefox can't find the servers at www.google.com

bla bla bla..

I check if I'm still connected to the internet, and yes I am.. I'm still logged in in YM

Tried all the other browsers I have (Googel Chrome and Internet Explorer) same problem, it has internet I can log in in Yahoo Messenger but my browsers can't load any web page.

TRIED ALL THIS SOLUTIONS:
1. Starts -> Run -> clear -> resetlog.txt
2. Check if my FF is in offline mode.
3. made my TCP/IP to automatically acquire IP address
4. Completely turned off my firewall and anti-virus
5. ran CCleaner
6. Restarted my PC

Any help would be appreciated.. if have questions feel free to ask me..

Is any other tool working for you?
Such as an online game (NOT messenger, it uses the same protocol of IE to connect).

You could try using out a cable (if this works, your wireless card is broken), you could also try resetting your router but I doubt there is a problem caused by it.

Also please note this: you told us your pc was overheat, which might burned something down inside.

as for Online Game, never tried.. will soon.. since I can't download OL games I'll have to copy from a diff PC..

Tried using a cable, same problem..I reset my router, same problem..

The over heating occured before but wireless connection works fine, but dunno, possible.. but if something burnt inside why can I still go online in YM/MSN

Hmm that's strange, you have access to them but can't open them.
I don't have any guaranteed ideas currently, but would it be possible you were infected by any virus lately?

It could be the hosts file, can you post the content of this file:

%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

When it asks you what program to open the file with, select notepad or any other text editing program.

Virus? uh not sure.. :/ so if I my PC was affected by a virus does it give me any message or something?.. and if my PC is infected with it, is reformatting the only way?

Here it is..

# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

I think your network drivers are broken. Or your network card is.

You can ping google yet you can not connect to google?
Lan in WC3 fails?
Using ethanet also fails?

Try checking with the computer manufactuer for updated network drivers (from another PC) and then transfering them to the laptop via a USB stick and updating.

Also try using Internet Explorer as that is built into the OS.

This is the most plausible answer.

I think I agree with this, try to do what he says and tell back if it works afterwards.

Do you have Steam?

Nope, don't have..

If you have Windows Vista or Windows Seven, you may ask for a driver update.
Open Control Panel and select the Device Manager item.
Here you will see lots of nodes. Expand the Network adapters node and double click the adapter that you are using. It is generally the first, but you might try the following for all of them! (EXCEPT VIRTUAL ADAPTERS)
On the Properties window that just showed up, go to the Driver tab and click the Update Driver.... Now follow the Wizard and your driver will be updated.

EDIT: If you see an exclamation mark on your adapter's icon then your network adapter has problems.

Vercas,

Network Adapters
-Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter
-Microsoft Virtual Wifi Miniport Adapter #2
-Raeltek PCIe FE Family Controller

I updated the first and last, same problem.. still can't load any web pages.
And no, I don't see any exclamation mark on adapter's icon and it says "This device is working properly"

try online scan for me worked i gound 35 trojans on my i was wtf..

Online antivirus scans don't check the whole PC, just a specific file.

(best two are novirusthanks.com & virustotal.com)

Barathrum, too complicated, and one of the tool required doesn't work on my PC (window 7 32-bit) I dunno it speaks about win vista/7 but I tried to follow the tutorial but things are going different in my PC.

Try running with Campability mode.

Tried didn't work.. :[

1 question about PC reformatting, if they reformat my PC, does the files when I bought my PC be returned? uh dunno if you get me but something like that.. if yes I think I'll try backing up all my files and do a reformat probably next week..

But since it won't be reformat yet, please help me find solutions. really need my PC fix.
