You are in control of a tribe on one of the many islands on an archipelago formed from great volcanoes that now lay dormant. It is your job to lead your tribe to prosperity. Manage men and resources as others try to conquer.

Game play will involve weighing cost verse rewards. Resources will be limited on your island and if you lose more than you gain you will quickly find yourself stranded and starving away on your island.
These resources will be food and wood. With each unit also requiring a supply of drinking water.
Wood will be collected from trees that you chop down. New trees will grow on islands near existing trees. If you chop all of your trees down no new ones will grow and you will run out of lumber.
Food is gathered a number of ways. From wild pigs found on the island. To fishing in the sea. To cultivating wild crops. If you do not leave any pigs/fish/crops to repopulate the supplies they will run out.
Water ,which is represented by mana, is gotten from fresh water crater lakes. These lakes are also not infinite and are refilled , along with everything else, by rain from cloud that wander around the map.

Information
Tribesman
Basic unit does most things, has weak attack, can build and gather resources.
Warrior
Tribesman that has specialized in the art of war. Has a spear and shield, and does much more damage than tribesman.
Slaver
Can capture enemy units that can be used for labor.
Shaman
Is in touch with nature and can call upon it to bring rain. It can also summon rough waves to protect your island or destroy others ships.

Hut
Basic hut makes tribesman.
War Hut
Where tribesmen become warriors.
Shaman Lodge
Where tribesmen become shamans.
Village Center
Where resources are returned to, and where all upgrades are researched.
Fishing Canoe
Built by the tribesmen, can get food from fish.
War Canoe
Build by the tribesmen, can carry multiple units, and can attack other ships.

Rain Clouds
Wanders around the map randomly and gives water to units / lakes.
Rough Waves
Rough seas can damage and even sink boats that are caught in it.
Finite Resources
Players will be forced to fight when their resources get low.
I wasn't suggesting strong units,but diversity in units. Having only 2 units?Try having some archers/axe throwers or a gunpowder mercenary unit that comes from a ship.
How about a trapper unit, that can capture pigs, bring them to a specially made building (pigpen) so you can keep pigs? Making the pigs reproduce slowly and cost water so it doesn't completely eliminate the need for other food sources.
You may want to break your warrior class into 2 subclasses, as you need more diversity for offensive units. Air units may not be a bad idea either with batriders/wyvern riders or some custom models from THW that are ranged/mounted usuable for a unit offensive/defensive unit.
