[Solved] Is it possible to REPLACE an in-game model with a custom one but keep its PORTRAIT?

Ok so some models have portrait models as well, like the Blademaster, etc. Instead of making a separate Portrait model for my custom unit I want to just replace the main Blademaster model, thus keeping the Portrait model so my custom model can use that portrait.

Is that possible? I tried naming my model in the "Import" section to overlap (therefore overwrite) the in-game model but even after restarting the WE it still comes out as the original model (my model is nowhere to be seen.

Help?

You could also import the model in parallel and then import a copy of the portrait you want to acompany it. Bad for file size but should work.

Do make sure you have tried importing the model over the existing model and tested it ingame (the editor does not reflect ingame all the time). Remember that paths are case sensitive.

I did try importing the model over the existing one, that's what I was saying earlier. But no I didn't check in-game as I just saw in a restarted WE and when I saw it stayed the same I just made a topic here >_>

And I'm trying to avoid exporting the existing portrait and reimporting it as it WOULD be a waste...

Thanks, still.

Ok, sorry for double posting but I figured it out:
Yes, it works by simply naming the file within World Editor the exact same file name of the model we want to replace. The reason why it didn't work is because I mistakenly named it with *.mdl instead of *.mdx. The model replaces the original and the portrait still functions properly.

So it works now.
