Inspiration?

What is it's inspiration? I always thought it's a combination with Lord of the Rings (Movie and book) with Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (Anime and Manga).

Actually, the spores part of the story is indeed an homage to Nausicäa. However, the rest of the story is different (too bad that there is only very few story moments right now, but we will bring more with D4).
