Oakwood uses various loot bags in the game. Loot bags are bags that carry items for the player whenever an item drops of a unit. With loot bags players in Oakwood won't have problems with loot stealers. We want players to chose between quest rewards and be able to sort out their loot after a boss has died withoud any fights and troubles between the players. The bags will be shown in the bottom left corner of your ui. This will allow you to easily click on the unopened bags to open them.

Here's an overview of the different types of loot bags:

- Normal Loot. The normal loot will drop in Loot Bags. Every unit that drops loot will drop a Loot Bag owned by the killing player. The items of the bag will be shown in the inventory menu. If a player wants one of the items he clicks on it and the item will be transfered to it's own inventory.

- Reward Loot. The rewards from quests or events will drop in Reward Bags. These bags are similair to the loot bags but will give the player the possibility to chose one of the items in the bag. After the player selected one of the items he won't be able to get one of the others anymore. Quests often give you the option to chose between 3 rewards in a Reward Bag.

- Boss Loot. The boss loot will become quite interesting. Whenever a boss got killed it will drop a Boss Bag. The items in a Boss Bag can be clicked by all players that attended the boss kill but won't be given to the player immediatelly. Players will only be able to click on one of the dropped items. After 30 seconds the items will be given to players that clicked the item on a random base. Meaning that if 2 players clicked the same item they both have a 50% chance of obtaining that item. If there are items left in a Boss Bag a second distribution round begins and players have 30 seconds to click their items again. This will carry on until all loot has been distributed or no clicks have been made. Players that obtained an item in the first distribution round won't be able to win an item in the second distribution round.

Here's an example of the Reward Bag after one of the Witch Doctor's quests in the Bloodbane Clan starting area. (Note: check out the small icon on the bottom left corner that indicates unopened bags)

Every unit that drops loot will drop a Loot Bag owned by the killing player.

I'll just give you a bit of a scenario:

A Sage, Rune Warrior and Ranger are doing something that may give Loot Bags. Now, the three have a bunch of mobs all crammed up in one place. Now, say the Sage decides to spam his/her AoEs. What if that same AoE manages to kill every single creep - does that mean the Sage gets all of the Loot Bags dropped?

Also, will Loot Bags be tinted to indicate which player receives which Loot Bag?

For now the sage will get all the loot. But in a while we might solve this with some sort of a group loot system. Maybe something like a Group Loot Bag. That is exactly the same as the Loot Bag but it can be opened by everyone that attended the kill. This way the fastest clicker could get the item, but if you have a social group that wouldn't cause problems.

Well, rather than trying to fix it, you could hinder it. Rather than a Sage receiving a Loot Bag with Sage-specific items, why not vary it a little? That way, in the scenario, the Sage gets all of the loot, yet there might be four Ranger items or two or a Rune Warrior item.

The dropped loot has nothing to do with the class of the healer so what you suggested is pretty much how it works now ^^

Yep RaiN. is right. Though the only problem that sage example would bring is quest items. That means the sage would get all the quest items, completes her quest and even while she keeps on getting the killing blows the other 2 cannot finish their quests.
This will be solved ofc.
