[Spell] Improved Health - Not Working

Okay, So I am trying to make a tank class, with one of their abilities being an ability that gives a major boost to health. I don't want to have to trigger the ability, but if that is the only way by using a dummy ability I can.

I am using the item ability life bonus (greater) as the base of the ability. it has 5 levels, giving 1000hp then double each level of the ability. 2 4 8 16 etc. The problem is, the ability will proc the first level you invest into it the icon will not show up and the buff i have as a debug will not show up, but it also will not proc the second level or beyond. the character only ever gains the 1000hp bonus.

Since this is the only ability base that gives bonus to health, is this even possible with an "item" ability to make it a hero ability? I don't want an ability that keeps adding HP to the unit, unless its possible to make it just a temporary Jump in HP as an empowerment type spell....but i digress

Without having to trigger the max hp of the learning unit, is it possible to give a hero an ability with a life bonus that is greater than just one level?

Forgot to add, I have tried the permanent life gain ability as well, same thing it will only proc the first level you invest and then won't show up, buff won't show up and procs only once, maybe its just my game is broken i don't know.

Are you on 1.31+?
Suggest using simple triggers then.

If not, then using the item ability (make it a unit ability):
The ability needs 2 levels, where - level 1: 1000 | level 2: 0.
Now you add the ability via triggers to a unit, increase to level 2 and remove it.

This can repeated. As you will see, level 2 being zero does the trick here.
Also works for negative values.

Yeah I figured I'd have to trigger it.

That or just do the temporary buff with the HP boost through Avatar.
